The Wii has more casual games when compared to its competitors but it still has a solid number of core titles: Monster Hunter Tri, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, the Zelda series, No More Heroes, Resident Evil(s), Mad World, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (great game), Sin & Punishment: Star Successor, Mario Galaxy (1 & 2), Conduit (1 & 2), CoD (WaW, MW Reflex, Black Ops), Muramasa Demon Blade, etc.

Why is the term "causal game" still around? Even at this stage I feel it's horrible outdated and close minded. So, if the game isn't a ridiculous time sink, it isn't a "proper" game, nonsense. I'm sure there are plenty of "causual" games with refined mechanics that are wholly enjoyable.
The Wii, like any good console has a good amount of great games, even if you have to dig around for them.

I'd reply "Oh, yeah, cool." There's absolutely no difference between 'hardcore' and 'casual' games to me, just games.

Your housemate is ignorant, plain and simple.

Dismissing an entire company because of that is the exact same as all those annoying teenagers who make such a big deal about how they only play M-rated games because they're better.

Know what I say? His loss. He'll never know GoldenEye 64, Super Smash Bros., or Legend of Zelda. But that's ok. Long as he's content with boring, same-y first-person shooter after boring, same-y first-person shooter.

Know what I say? Your loss. You'll never know LittleBigPlanet, Mass Effect, or countless awesome PSN and Xbox Live Arcade games. But that's ok. Long as you're content with whatever you're playing.
Heh, wow. Haven't a reversal of that caliber since I did it six years ago. Well played, sir.

That said, I have played both LBP and ME. LBP is average at best IMO, and I hated ME.

And for the sake of further contradicting myself, Perfect Dark on XBLA=<333

MOST of it's consoles are, that's the problem - not all of course but after releasing the wii and about a half a dozen variations of the DS which have tiny useless extra features you can hardly be surprised of him thinking that.
By most, you mean 1/5?
By most i mean most recent ones i should say. The wii is nearly always casual.
The ninendo DS can be very casual with a bugger load of it's games as well.

I mean none that I know off are CALL OF MANLYNESS MODERN WARFARE hardcore kind of games.

So your definition of "hardcore" is shorthand for "bland First Person Shooter that's the same as the past 5 games with the same title but has more realistic graphics and is in 1080p". Gotcha. Let me know when you get all the stars in Mario Galaxy 2 or all unlockables in Smash Brothers Brawl, assuming you don't destroy your TV in the process.

Here's a news flash, "hardcore" is not M-rated, army fetich gun games and "casual" is not family friendly. There's a reason why there's the term "Nintendo hard" and none of those so called games you call "hardcore" even come close to that level.
