I won't get a game just for the achievements, but I do like the small sense of accomplishment I get when I unlock one.
Its not a big deal........There just achievements. Why should Nintendo do something that they feel is unessential to gaming. Hell i love getting that unknown achievement because i did something out of the ordinary but its not requiredSir John the Net Knight said:Arrgh, Nintendo...must...defy...progress!!!
Seriously, again with Nintendo refusing to implement new features because they are so stuck on gaming being in the past. You know the past where Nintendo was the only game in town and had no real competition. Achievements aren't the wave of the future. It's 3D technology which was introduced in the 60s with stupid glasses and the Wiimote, which is basically the same as the power glove.
Dear Nintendo, the future is not in the past.
.... How are achievements the future? They don't actually DO anything to gameplay; a game heavily laden with achievements would still play the same without them. Hell, if you want you can make your own, like the challenges people write up for open ended games like The Sims. They're completely optional and in no way are the future.Sir John the Net Knight said:Arrgh, Nintendo...must...defy...progress!!!

Maybe so, although New Vegas is inherently a single player game while also the achievements that are implemented is straight forward as they are pretty much the same with FO3.SamElliot said:Actually, I think achievements are more for casual gamers. Take a game like New Vegas, where you can actually look up the Achievements to see what all there is to look for. It essentially serves as a hand-holding guide to step players through the game, and then give little tiny encouragements of "Hey, buddy, you're doing a great job," before they ruffle your hair and send you to the next achievement.
Yeah, it will play the same, but it will play longer.yamitami said:.... How are achievements the future?
