Based on everyone's reaction to Nintendo buying the Bayonetta Franchise for it's second game, let's have a new hypothetical!

So, Nintendo, wanting to attract more people to the WiiU, decide to buy another Franchise. Whatever it is, dead or alive, Nintendo has the money to buy it from whatever company has it, and is now making a new game with the developers for the WiiU Only.

How would you react? Would you buy it? Would you be p'd off? What would you do?

Me? If they bought back Banjo-Kazooie, I would be completely happy.

Well, any franchise that they pick I'll be fine with. It's not like they'll butcher the gameplay just by being "nintendo". I'll still be getting the console to play that game, so yeah.

I don't mind, nintendo are good at what they do so it wouldn't be a problem. I am not biased to 1 system despite only owning a 360. I'll play anything and the big franchises usually get stale by the end of the second game...i prefer new ideas and concepts to the same character doing the same thing in a new setting.

Meh. I can't think of any single franchise that would get me to buy a WiiU at this point.

Maybe if they bought my five favourite franchises.

But I don't really have five favourites. Besides, most of my favourites are series that have recently finished (eg. Portal and Mass Effect).

Are you sure Ninty has bought the whole IP? All I know is that they are publishing Bayo 2

I couldn't see Nintendo making Final fantasy any worst . At this point i think any company could do better , even EA .So i would be cautiously optimistic.

It wasn't until i came to this site that i actually started noticing publishers .

I would be okay with it. A little disappointed that I would have to buy a WiiU, but I would to be too busy being all "holy shit Psychonauts 2 is happening aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhghgh'ahfpfnd;nk" to care.

Shin Megami Tensei...

Keep the dark storylines, lore and all the good stuff in the series and I will be happy.
If the bought Bayonetta, I think they'd leave it be.

Nintendo's gonna buy Fallout and/or Persona? Fat chance. They're not really built for gritty post-apocalyptia or strange demon/shadow killing anime-like games. The two are either too serious or two strange for them.

Additional: Atlus has alot of strange games under the belt. It's their bread and butter with cheese and bacon. They won't give up Persona or SMT or DDS or whatever. It makes good money and is effectively the centerfold of their reputation.

I'm not quite happy about the Bayonetta 2 situation.

Then again, I wish Nintendo all the best.

I'd jump with joy if Nintendo brought back the good old competitive puzzlers.

Like... say, Tsuyoshi Shikkari Shinasai - Taisen Puzzle Dama. An awesome game.

I don't really have a favorite franchise per se, but seeing as though most of the games I play are on Nintendo platforms I think Nintendo probably already owns them. But if Nintendo bought my favorite non-Nintendo franchise I'd be fine with that since it would probably just mean I could play it more.

Is that on principle, or because you don't want another console? Has Nintendo somehow unforgivably hurt you in the past?

Yeah, Bayonetta 2 would not have happened if Nintendo had not stepped in. If Nintendo bought any one of my favorite games I would be interested, because at this point, it seems like Nintendo is actually the most sane of the three major companies. OK, OK, that is damnation by faint praise, but still, I think it is true.

FPSs and shooters in general control much better on PC than on controller-based consoles, so maybe not if Nintendo bought a shooter franchise. Though, with that said, Metroid Prime was a good console-shooter, so maybe I would look into it.

I would jump for joy if they bought Rare again, and put out Banjo-Threeie as a real platformer
