I just came back from England, where I bought the Opera Browser for DS which works like a charm.

Also picked up a copy of Electroplankton while there-- a bit skimpy, but overall great concept-game-art thingy which I played the whole plane ride back.

Finally stopped playing Animal Crossing after six months, not because I was tiring of collecting stuff, catching fish and what-not, but was tired of my neighbors telling the same dialog-jokes again and again...Nintendo could really benefit from downloadable content updates here.

Metroid Prime Hunters is like having something like Quake 3: Arena that you can take with you anywhere you go.

Also enjoying working my way through Final Fantasy III.

The DS is really my favorite gaming platform. It's got a great lineup.

Of all the games I've played on it there is only one which I didn't like that much, and that is Trace Memory, a mostly uninspired graphical adventure.

I'll second Advance Wars:DS and Lost in Blue. Trauma Centre is good, if a bit unforgiving in the latter stages. New Super Mario Bros is quite entertaining, but too easy.

I'm REALLY excited about Puzzle Quest. It's supposed to be out next week. This is exactly what I've been waiting for to spice up the RPG handheld genre. I've read that even though the PSP version boasts slightly better graphics... the stylus on the DS is the only way to play. Anyway, I have high hopes for this one.

I picked up a black DS Lite last week in a cheap bundle with NSMB, which I'll most likely give to a friend -- I never owned a NES/SNES, was terrible at Mario when I was 12 and am terrible at Mario today. As a general rule, side-scrollers are just not for me.

My first (and only, thus far) game purchase was Age of Empires, which is pretty fun so far (I'm in the first campaign, Joan of Arc). I'm really looking forward to SimCity next month, too. I think these sorts of games have a lot of potential on the DS provided they're well-adapted for the small screen, which AoE seems to be so far.

The graphics are "slightly better" like 360/PS3 graphics are slightly better than Wii. Check out the screenshots [http://www.infinite-interactive.com/puzzlequest/screenshots.php]. Gameplay videos really rub it in. The music isn't half as good either. If you have both handhelds, it sounds like the stylus isn't enough to lift the DS version over the PSP

Grain of salt: I haven't played it. In fact I've never played either handheld.

I've been wavering about getting one for a while, but not sure how consistent the game line-up was, too focused on the next-gen console battles. But now the console dust has settled, reading about Puzzle Quest has finally convinced me to buy a DS, so I can play it. As with most DS games, there's that crucial realisation: "This is a game my girlfriend will play as much as I do!"

I tell you, at least part of Nintendo's success has got to be attributed to taking away that male-gamer's-guilt thing that boyfriends get when gaming separates them from their lady.
