Since they're touting HD graphics, I'm guessing it's a new console.

I for one can't wait to get my hands on the Workers' International Industrial Union.

To my knowledge the WiiU is the new console, and they're praising the controller for said console.

Project Cafe = WiiU
Project Cafe Controller = Big Ol' iPad Controller

To me it sounds like a console and a controller. The console transmits wirelessly to the controller. . .or so I think.

Nintendo came out really strong. Much stronger than Microsoft have. They always take E3 by storm I find. XD Even my little brother seemed impressed.

Yeah the Weeyou has to be a new separate console but they wanted to market the controller more than anything.

But I could be wrong... and I'd rather would've had them be more clear on all this.

using the controller to look at different areas than what is shown on the tv is pretty neat, I'll admit.

You are right. Its not confusing. Its a new console. Named WiiU and the controllers the big deal.

Controller streams info from the console so they should be relativly cheep (for something with a 6.2 inch touch screen)

Gaems all look comparable to ps3/360 but theres nothing ground up made for this so the doesnt reflect the power of the console accurately

The real question Nintendo needs to answer is this: Are hardcore gamers going to get burned on the WiiU (worst name ever) the way they did with the Wii?

I know personally I am not willing to waste the money on another gimmicky console. I'll wait for Microsoft's next-gen console, which will be more focused on the core crowd I'm sure.

That tablet controller design is just horrible in my opinion. It's very cool tech, but it just isn't for me.

One, WiiU is a retarded name for the console, and two, I'm still a bit pissed that I got disconnected from the E3 online stream THE PRECISE MOMENT IWATA REVEALED THE EXISTENCE OF SUPER SMASH BROS 4, SEQUEL TO MY FAVORITEST GAME EVER! I probably missed the most epic punchup between virtual fighters, and perhaps the revelation of newcomers, all because my laptop decided to flip me off and freeze. Also, my internet connection is the shite.

It started to pick up after they stopped going on about nostalgia and the game rehashes (another zelda? ANOTHER mario? NOOO WAAY!)

what I like about this console is that it's apparently going to have 3rd-party developers actually taking it seriously this time around.

I'm already considering the new 360 and the ps4, though, so I guess it'll be up to the game library and if nintendo will have me put up with things like friend codes.

No new games, hardware specs etc. whatsoever... god this E3 has been a total disappointment...
I'm almost certain the specs for the WiiU will be out within the next few days. In my opinion they've done this presentation very well - they've shown off the console and impressed us all with it. It was short and sweet - this was basically a teaser for the console, and, now it's got us all asking us for more, I'd say Nintendo have done their jobs properly.

Why are people saying Nintendo "wins" because of this? They finally have a real console so third party developers started returning their calls? It's nice that Ninty has finally reached the current generation but I can play every game they just showed off without buying yet another console. They've leveled the playing field but it'll take more than an awkward controller to get me hyped. Another stagnated Mario title doesn't cut it either.

My current reaction to Nintendo at E3? That it looks like I'll be spending another half a decade not owning a Nintendo console.

So....what....wait....what....

All the newest next-gen games...on a Nintendo console. Yeap, Nintendo just won the E3. Again. I mean good heavens, if they play their cards right they can can now win over the 2 main gaming groups.

I just wonder whether that new controller will be comfortable enough.

Isn't the fact that games like Ninja Gaiden 3 and Battlefield 3 are coming out on this console enough information about it's hardware? The fact that it rocks for example?

Nintendo screwd up this year.
Basically they announced 1 console (And multi plat games you can already play in current gen consoles), that is basically a current gen upgrade with an unconfortable controller.

And more zelda, more mario, the usual.

5/10

Here are my thoughts on the conferences this year (For reference, 2010 Sony = 10/10 and 2006 Sony = 1/10)

Microsoft: 3/10

Nintendo: 5/10

Sony: 7/10
