Nintendo's E3 conference kicks off in just under half an hour, and I, I'm sure like most other Escapists, am eagerly anticipating the announcement of their new console.

This threads for your initial reactions/discussion, and as such is going to contain spoilers and so on and so forth.

They'll need some pretty impressive stuff to get me on board. I bought a Wii and it ended up collecting dust before I gave it off to a family member, so if it has some nice features and a decent line-up for launch, maybe.

I'll likely edit this post with reactions later.

Edit #1: Well, the controller idea for the new console is neat, and it shows that it still uses the motion controllers, so I'd imagine a lot of the casual crowd will pick up on it.

Five minutes to go... I am excited. I know they will be concentrating on Project Cafe, but I hope they announce more games for the Wii too. I want a new Paper Mario and Pikmin for the thing, dadgumit!

EDIT: LUIGI'S MANSION 2!!! :D

Looking forward to some great game announcements. Don't think they'll disappoint.

Apparently they're running a few minutes late... trying to keep us all in suspense?

Honestly, though, I'm just hoping they announce some of their lesser, but equally epic, known titles. Yeah, I'm looking forward to the obligatory Mario/Zelda, but give me Pikmin, F-Zero or, hell, even Earthbound/Mother any day of the week.

I'm hinging my remaining hope in Nintendo on this conference. They need to pull out something seriously impressive to get me interested in the products they put out again.

Lets go Project Cafe! I will lol hard if the controller itself is like $100.

New IP...? One can hope. And some real 3rd party presence would be nice.

EDIT: Whoa! Live orchestra? Classy :p

I hope they're going somewhere with this all. Otherwise this might be a big rise followed by an epic fall.
