Why would you be sick of "casual gaming shit"?

EDIT: Let me clarify; there's nothing wrong w/ casual gaming. It has boosted game sales, and by doing so, increased the size of the industry. Because the video game industry is so young, we're gonna have to wait awhile before everything plateaus. It's just a transition state that everything goes through at one time or another (and sometimes multiple times).

Man, does everyone get a free crate of casual games at this website or something? I see them in the store and everything, but I never buy them. From the number of screw Nintendo threads going around of late, I wanna know what competition you guys won.

I thought that there was a rule on this forum about not posting the same topic repeatedly and, instead, using the search feature.

One Wii bashing thread is fine. But five in one week?

For one, its taking over the market (sorry for speaking for you mate but I feel the same way) and making all the good publishers turn to money hungering casual games and wiping out all the good game makers, replacing them with morons who try but end up churning out utter crap.
I want a good game on the wii goddamnit, there's butt loads of good games on the ps3 and 360 but I can just get them on PC, the wii is unique, it should have some truly special games!
That's a decently intelligent response. No sarcasm, I promise. It's just that I believe if video games are to be taken seriously they need to gain momentum. That momentum was lost in the '80s and semi-revived a couple times since then, but never to the fullest extent. My view is that you just need to be patient and everything will even out soon enough.

Besides, we've got plenty of games to play, whether new or old that we never got around to (I never did finish Grim Fandango), until the mass amounts of hardcore games return. And there's still good games coming out anyways.

Let me clarify something:
I am a hardcore gamer(as are most of you). While, appealing to casual gamer is ok, they are over doing just a bit. This is not a "let's hate Nintendo" thread. I love Nintendo. I have a tattoo of the triforce on my right arm. I have been a Nintendo fanboy for quite sometime. I was merely venting to other video gamers about my distaste for what Nintendo is becoming.

I never played it, and I don't judge games based on sales. So I won't make myself look like an idiot by involving myself in a debate about that.

Yeah, at least Trico is coming out soon...ish, that should quell the gaming pangs until Nintendo realises their sinful behaviour and repents.... And Quico (Ico four.... Kinda) comes out....
Now that's looking on the bright side of life.

I just meant that casual games never outsell anything, maybe a few famous ones will outsell something, but that was it.
There are more famous hardcoregames than casualgames on the wii, and the sells look better for the hardcoregames.
Its just hip to yell "LAL THE WII ISNT KONSOLE ITS A TOI", without bringing serious arguments.

Oh, my bad. That's a legitimate argument. Regardless, I don't really mind the whole casual gaming thing that much. It gives me something to do w/ my family at the reunions and whatnot. It's become somewhat of a common denominator like Pong, Pac-Man and Space Invaders used to be.

With the flood of shovelware on the Wii, those companies that do make inferior games should see a drop in profits as time goes on. Thus forcing them to a)stop making games or b) make games of higher quality so they stand out among the muck. Think of it as gaming evolution

im fine with it but only because i also have a ps3 and a 360. if i only had a wii i would be sick of that shit too. pretty much my wii was used for zelda, mario, and smash bros. so now it just collects dust.
