I actually think most of the Pokewalker areas are useless since they don't have legendaries. Maybe they're good to people that don't have many of the games?

Do they have pokemon from other versions eg diamond and pearl? or only the hg ss pokemon then maybe it would be usefull as opposed to merely something to do when you are forced to actually venture out into the harsh light of day and supposedly interact with those disturbing pink things that keep making noises at you.


As for dodrio flight its not actually flight as it is a series of extremely long jumps similar to the original superman

OT: I'm talking about the lack of legendaries, actually. You have to walk like 1000 miles to open up one of those areas and what do you get? Half the Pokemon are useless crap that you trip over whenever you go underground.

Pokemon Yellow begining sequence had a pikachu on a surf board, then a pikachu with balloons flying high. I'd assume it would be this. There was always rumours that you could teach pikachu surf and fly in pokemon yellow although never saw anything solid (much like the "how to catch Mew" stuff)

Actually, that was only ever mentioned in the anime, which is an entirely separate beast. Not only has Dodrio's supposed jumping ability never been referenced in the games, but in the new Pokethlon (think Pokemon Olympics) Dodrio only has a jump stat of 3/5. Average jumping ability, in other words, and flying pokemon generally seem to get better jump stats than that. Rapidash, who WAS stated at one point to be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound (I just wish I could find WHERE) has a jump stat of 4.

What's more confusing about Dodrio is dubious references to it actually having wings, or that its high running speed makes up for "poor" flying capability. Not "non-existant" flying ability, poor. As in, somehow, this thing both has wings and can fly with them. Personally, I prefer to ignore the part about the wings and just imagine it uses its extra heads like helicopter blades somehow.

Also, all electric pokemon seem to be capable of flight to a certain degree in 4th gen thanks to all of them getting Magnet Rise via tutor. Forget flying Pikachu, your Jolteons, Raikous, and Pachirisus can all learn to fly, more or less...

Anyway, regardless, Jetpack Pikachu is an awesome idea.

I used to have a surfing Pikachu on my Yellow edition. How I loved that little thing when I was in battle with a rock type Pokemon. Flying sounds cool too.
