But you do what, point the controller at each other and whoever presses the game wins first? That the game?
It's a collection of Mini-Games. They have a Shoot Out one where that is indeed the gameplay, but that's not the only one. There's definitely a Sword Dueling Mini Game, a Dancing Mini Game, and what looks like a Yoga Mini Game, plus many other Mini Games that I don't fully understand what they are or how they're played.

It's basically a Tech Demo to show off the power of the Heptic Feedback Controllers. Like how Wii Sports was a Tech Demo for the Motion Controlled Wii Motes.

....I'm not seeing any reason to get it just yet.

New Zelda is also available on my WiiU.

A new Mario Kart would of gotten me to buy but I'm not upgrading for a GOTY edition.

Splatoon 2.... ehhh if Overwatch wasn't already a part of myself I'd be all over it, but I have Overwatch. I don't need another shooter in my life.

Skyrim! That's great.... except I already own it a dozen times by now, I don't need it portable.

So the only thing on the horizon that makes me go "Gotta have it" is new Mario.

Well when its years old its a bit hard to justify. Think of it from the point of view of someone who doesn't play enough game to justify buying multiple consoles, they have to compare the library of the PS4, xbox one and switch to each others. Says they wanna play the next call of duty has tens of millions of people want, which one are they going to buy? The Nintendo library is a strong selling point for peoples who are okay with owning multiple console, but otherwise its too weak to justify owning exclusively a Nintendo console (hence the wii u being a failure).

Can someone explain what the hell is this?

From the thumbnail it appears to be some sort of gay dual.

I applaud Nintendo for being so LGBTQ-minded.

I didn't know that's what everyone wanted. For me the only selling point a console has is its exclusives. That's why I still don't own a PS4 or Xbone, all of the games I want to play I can just play on PC (although the PS4 is slowly building up a library of decent exclusive titles).

That's not so surprising. While this was streamed worldwide this was first and foremost a presentation for the Japanese market. Soccer is a reasonably big sport in Japan whereas Ice Hockey and American Football would be very niche. I can see EA announcing them for the US market at a later date (not sure about Europe though seeing as they didn't bother releasing Madden on Wii U here)

Overall an ok presentation. Probably won't buy one at launch but then I never do

And was it just me or did the translator have a bit of trouble with Suda 51?

Sonic Mania and FIFA 2018 aren't years old

Dude that's like the main thing people have been whinging about Nintendo for.

wahhh why can't i play 3rd Party games. where's GTAV? where's FFXV? Where's RDR2? where's KH3? etc etc.

the public has literally been bitching at Nintendo for years now just because they can't play the exact same shitty AAA games that their other consoles already get

Well it's true that if you only own a Nintendo console you're severely limiting what games are available to you. But I guess we hang around different types of people because I never see people complaining about it, I thought everyone had accepted it by now. You buy a Nintendo for the classic Nintendo IPs (and whatever other exclusives they have), you buy a PC/PS/Xbox for the other stuff.

I'm unimpressed myself but I knew this wasn't for me from the get-go, and the presentation confirmed everything I thought I knew and didn't like about the console, so my total apathy towards the Switch was foregone.

Well it didn't release anything surprising but there was nothing obviously bad about it. Ultimately the only reason I'm interested in grading the switch is because now all of nintendo stuff will be on one device and its not too expensive, so I'm not disappointed but the bar was pretty darn low. As far as setting the world on fire, I think it'll do reasonably well but there's really nothing in this presentation that make it seems like it'll do anything approaching wii number or even threaten the PS4 (I mean you can get PS4 for that price now). I'm guessing it'll have a very short lifespan, 4 year maybe even less.

for me personnally, the Switch looks like it has a great lineup for the Launch year in 2017 currently. but the actual launch month of march is pretty weak with Zelda and Bomberman R being pretty much the only things to play until Mario Kart 8 comes out at the end of April.

more stuff will get announced in Nintendo Directs and at E3, but yeah, good launch year, shit launch month imho.

I'm weired out by Microsoft makeing Mine Craft for the Switch and Konami making Bomberman for the Switch.
I really want to give props to Microsoft for not being a prick even though Nintendo might be the reason why we didn't get Golden Eye HD on XBLA.

Does Nintendo have like dirt on Konami because I don't understand how they got Konami to make a game. Granted this was originally a Hudson soft game and maybe they don't care about titles they didn't event.

Bomber Man Comfired for Smash bros. for the switch.

How many Nintendo console owners only own one platform in this day and age?

i own an xbox one as well and i imagine most other Wii U owners would own either a PS4 or an Xbox one as well

I'll give my piece of thought
The list comes as it comes into my mind, so a bit messy, good and bad things in a mix

I think it was a bit disapointing to be honest, the presentations themselves. Was somehow so stale, but this is what I got from it:
Saw some games I like, Zelda, Xenoblade, ShinMegami, FireEmblem.
They seem to have upped the motions sensoring a notch from the Wii, if it is a lot better like they suggest, it might be fun if used correctly in games.
No hardware info yet :( - BUT I think consoles are good on a graphical level, so as long a game runs smooth, I am happy.
Batterylife 3-6 hours, comes with a charger, which I think is good enough, traveling somewhere over 3 hours without the possibility of charging these days in my country is almost impossible.
Price is OK, not overly priced
Launch line-up weaker than what I expected, but Zelda is a launchtitle, just hoping they can shovel out good titles in a good momentum, which didn't happen with the WiiU, 1 or 2 good games every 3 months is good enough for me, but I know many want more than that
No region locking, was about time
Paid online, was wondering when this happens, been too good so far with free online

If I missed something I will EDIT :D

I'm glad to see there is a thread here for this that wasn't started for just shit posting, like the other threads seem to be. Yeah, some people aren't as excited, but I myself am very excited, and it's good to see others are as well. The launch doesn't look amazing, but console launches often don't always have a whole lot. This whole generation almost each console was said to have no games at launch, and typically was the case in the past, with maybe an exception of having one or two games worth getting at launch, but at least this time there's a good looking Zelda game, and yes you can get it for Wii U, but that install base is so small I'm sure a fair amount of people just skipped it when the leaks starting say the NX would get it. Also with Nintendo often having at least immediate backwards compatibility, I can assume a good amount of people would have just waited it out, like I did. Plus, the new Mario looks up my alley, Arms looks interesting, Splatoon 2 would get me if Nintendo's online service gets better features and/or is fairly cheap, and I'll follow SMT to the ends of the earth at this point. Also Binding of Isaac Afterbirth on the go(laptops are meh for on the go, and the vita didn't get the update)? A new Xenoblade game? Skyrim on the go? I think I'm going to have a good time here.

Got mine reserved and looking forward to release. Thoughts on the games:

-Arms: Yeah, that looks like good fun. Maybe Nintendo can use the concept for another Punch Out or have Little Mac as a hidden boss.

-Fire Emblem Warriors: This one made me roll my eyes. It's too obvious and dull. The only FE mechanic I can see being put in that might enhance the Warriors gameplay is the Promotion and Branching Class system. That's it. It'll be fine, but this isn't gonna be on the same level as Hyrule Warriors

-Zelda: IT'S FREAKING ZELDA. Nothing more needs to be said.

-No More Heroes: This has been long overdue for Suda. I've felt that his work after NMH2 has been emulating eccentricity without actually BEING eccentric. It just lacked that flair that NMH had and it's about time we saw Travis again.

-Octopath Traveler: What really intrigued me about this is how they took the art style of SNES-era titles like FFVI and made it 3D. It's really neat faux-retro design. Plus being by the guys that made Bravely Default I can expect it to be great.

-Shin Megami Tensei: The focus on Odin is a bit odd. A 3DS project was also announced alongside it, so I expect to hear about that soon.

-Splatoon 2: Good times

-Super Mario Odyssey: THE HAT HAS GAINED SENTIENCE!

-Xenoblade 2: Now this surprised me as I was certain the first Xenoblade would be a lone creature due to the existence of Xenoblade X (which is Takahashi's latest attempt to do his multi-entry epic, so I expect more entries). Guess it's gonna be a Mega Man, Mega Man X thing. Still, I do wonder how Monolith Soft expects to innovate in this title while keeping it separate from X.

I think what really gets me is how Nintendo once again pulled the rug out from under people during this presser. Everyone kept going on about the portable nature of the system, but Nintendo was weirdly adamant in classifying it as a home console that just so happened to be portable. And now we see why: the controllers are again the main feature of the system. Nintendo is once again showing that only is waggle sticking around, they're innovating in it. Right out of the package the consumer gets two fully functional controllers with the Joy Cons, which is something that's been absent in gaming for decades. And then there's the HD Rumble which is an innovation so obvious every hardware designers needs to slap themselves for not doing it sooner. With this I fully expect Nintendo to focus on motion control again in a big way. And it's hilarious how they fooled us by introducing it just now.
