It's the same as the Switch reveal - its main concern is to illustrate the many scenarios in which you can play on the console rather than showcase the actual games. You can play here! And there! And like that! With this many people! Like a toy commercial.
isn't that basically what videogames are?

electronic toys to entertain us?

and duh of course it's trying to show off the console. people didn't know what the hell a Wii U was and thought it was a Wii add on. of course they're trying to show off that it's an entirely new console with new ways to play games. they don't need to list their entire library. they just need to highlight the main games coming out for the thing at and soon after launch which they did. it's a 2 minute trailer after all not a library lineup list.

Did I miss the commercial? I've watched this entire game and have yet to see that commercial. There was the commercial for the new Zelda game (which was similar to that one but it was only about 20 seconds long versus that commercial above) but not a commercial for the Switch itself...

EDIT: Game is over (Damn it...) and I still never saw the commercial.
the video in the OP is the extended cut version.

the main commercial was 30 seconds long only having the zelda parts of the same video in it.

If they're serious about wanting to match the Wii's sales figures
it's not really about matching Wii's sales.

it's about gaining attention from the mainstream and making sure the Switch console isn't a hardware sales failure like the Wii U was.

getting Wii type sales would just be the cherry on top.

Wait, what? They're still pushing the motion control stuff?

Anyway, it was ok, I guess. The pistol and wand(?) dueling thing look pretty stupid, and the boxing game looks like a more energetic version of the Wii Sports one.

they're not really pushing it so much as motion controls more just being a standard control feature for them now.

they tend to still use it when appropriate for things like Splatoon, Arms and 1 2 Switch but for other stuff like Zelda, Smash Bros, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, etc they don't really use motion controls for anything in those case's

motion controls are kinda just there now in the same way that touch screen controls are there. they're there and still heavily used but they're not really a "Focus" of the consoles per say.

EDIT:

Big time. Honestly, I have no interest in the Switch; especially how Nintendo has been acting lately. I am sick tired of their bullshit and gimmicky motion controls no one cares about anymore. There is nothing of interest at launch, and there is only about 4 games. Ok, technically 3, one of them is a glorified tech demo charger at $60. I know there is a No More Heroes 3 coming out on the system , but that will be a long ass time before it comes out.

When 'mediocre' is 'best in a while]...that's saying more about Nintendo than anything else.

I was SO tempted for this system...until everything cost a shit load of money (pro controller is going to be MANDATORY for non-kids type of people who have normal (not trump) sized hands.

Plus, it being under powered...you already know that 3rd Party is basically going to be DOA.

MAYBE Atlus will show it some love, but I'm iffy on that.
:/
We're getting Megaten 5 on it. That's enough love for me.

Did not know about No More Heroes 3. I'm looking around and I'm getting interviews where he says that might happen "10-20 years from now" and no mention of the Switch at that. Even then you never know the extent to which he'd be involved in the games that bear his name. He hasn't technically directed a game since No More Heroes 2 back in 2010. It'd certainly be an incentive for me but it's too much of a chimaera at this point to even consider a selling point for the Switch.

The only thing that looks interesting is the Zelda game. Everything else looks either like a tech demo (1, 2 Switch and that Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots game) or either a remaster or a sequel so like the first game it might as well be a remaster. Oh and Mario 06.

Suda showed up when the Switch presentation was unveiled last month. He implied there was going to be another No More Heroes showing this picture of Travis.

There is no confirmed release date, but everyone's speculating that it won't be out until next year. Even then, that is not enough for me to get a Switch; regardless if Suda's lead director or not. Nintendo better (most likely won't) show more interesting stuff tied not just me, but more than family/friend or their hardcore fan base.
