I wouldn't mind getting one of these for the upstairs TV. Sure, I've got a box with emulators on it, but having something official would be nice.

Though if they're going the wired route, I hope that the controller cable is long enough.
And has HDMI output. It's 2016, and that's pretty much all that they let us connect at this point.
It has HDMI out put but hopefully it doesn't look bad since these games were made for a crtv

While i don't think that most people would argue for cheaper, I personally don't have much of a problem with the price. I think that not being able to get additional games for it limits its attractiveness though as everyone has games that they would love to have that isn't included. Although, I can see it coming a point of where do you stop.

No Castlevania 3, no buy.

Otherwise a pretty good list, but only of publishers still around (Nintendo, Capcom, Konami, Square Enix), and all of these games are already available on Wii/Wii U, and frankly, not terribly hard to emulate (probably why Castlevania 3 isn't included as it is hard to emulate - but it does exist on the VC, so ??). I'm guessing its the same emulator that Nintendo uses for the Wii and Wii U. Too bad they didn't try to get any other less known classics like The Guardian Legend, Zombie Nation, Abarax, Faxanadu, Crystalis, Wizards and Warriors,...

Looks like a great novelty gift for someone who doesn't have a Wii or Wii U. The lack of expandability sucks, but understandable given it's intended audience. Seems like they are going for people who played in their youth and didn't keep up or something to give to their kids without the stress of current generation consoles (lack of online especially), but compatible with current TVs.

Not my thing but I think it's a great move. Nintendo cashing in on the "retro gaming" fad right before Christmas and just in time to remind people Nintendo is a thing for the NX launch. There's definitely a large market that will lap this up for the novelty/image factor alone. The "first shipment" has already pre-sold out in Australia apparently.
