Can't believe all this talk about 3D TVs lately, I'm still too poor to afford the HD upgrade and they're already pushing for the next advance.. F**k you technology!

Hey, look! A console I WON'T be buying.

3D is the worst gimmick of all gimmicks ever, but this is coming from a guy who likes gimmicks. Seriously, I'm getting Kinect and everything, but 3D? That can go die pretty soonish.

Well if you are sick or impaired from the 3D effect you won't notice the games look like the WII's only are rendered in HD.....

I wonder if Nintendo will ever venture back into non-motion control consoles. I mean, maybe they should offer both. The motion control thing is basically the only reason I don't have one. Well, that and the fact that it has quite an astonishingly bad library.

I don't think 3D will catch onto gaming, at the moment it costs too much. Once a cheap 3D TV comes out, then perhaps.

I wonder if eventually the 3D tech they have in the 3DS will be workable on big screens... That would be awesome. It would certainly make 3D more attractive.
Autostereoscopic screens are available in sizes up to 72". Problem is they tend to have a sweet spot you have to view them from, they can lead to eye strain without eye tracking tech, and you can't invite a group of friends over to watch it with you.

So once people get over the idea of wearing glasses the Wii 2 comes out? Really, all they have to do is work out a pair that can be re-fitted by the user and the complaining might die down. I am a fan of the glasses 3D tech cause it mean they can focus more on making the 3D better and not have to jack up the price even more with eye-trackers and such.

And for people wanting a huge 3DS screen: 3DS is a bad idea for group viewing. From what I have heard if you are next to someone playing 3DS the effect breaks.

Still don't know how I feel about 3D. It's a wonderful innovation, but I can't shake the feeling that there's a way to get tired of it...

Plasma screens that weren't fully HD sold for 10k to gadget junkies, and HD TV's were around the 3K mark and they sold in huge quantities.

Would a 3D wii be the 'wiii', or the 'thrii dii'?

Also, it'll be a while before 3D TV takes off - i.e until someone works out a cheaper way of doing it. There won't be any major 3D channels until the adoption rate picks up, and there won't be an adoption rate if there's nothing to watch in 3D. We're basically relying on 3D DVD's to get this started.
