Resident Evil 4

-Can't move while aiming.

-Have to pause the game to switch weapons (I don't have a problem with it, but most people seem to).

-I beat the final boss on the first try.

-"LEEEEOOOOOOON! HEEEEEEEEEEELP!" (hey, at least she had enough sense to duck when you pointed a gun at her *glares at Sheva*).

Seeing as I only play one game at the moment (Until other games are released), here is the nitpick I have for League of Legends. It's not even really a nitpick. They're serious issues.

1) The community is comprised of so many trolls and ragers.

2) Match making system is trash.

3) Community is trash.

4) Riot thinks Shaco needs buffs when he doesn't

5) Community has no manners.

6) Release of OP 6400 champs to build hype before next patch nerf hammer.

7) Community MAKES people like the guy who beat up the kid for being an asshat in CoD.

Naomi > Meryl

YEAH I SAID IT WHAT NOW?
Now nothing. I only said Meryl because I forgot the other girl's name. Thanks for the reminder!

Mass Effect 2. FTL space travel breaks the laws of physics. Everyone speaks the same language. Mass Effect 2 more like Gears of War 2 Space Edition AMIRITE? Bioware came to my house and insulted my wife's cooking and kicked my dog.

These aren't opinions I actually hold but it's fun to pretend to hold these opinions because people actually do and make a long series of youtube videos about them set to classical music that others say are brilliant but if were actually made into a game would have been pretty terrible.
I got to the end of explaining fully how FTL travel works and how it doesn't break physics before I read "These aren't opinions I actually hold" - lesson learned: read people's posts fully.

OT: Mass Effect - it's too hard in the beginning then too easy at the end. Not too hard necessarily to get through, but more the glaringly bad difficulty curve. Along with the moral choice system - until you get to a level were you have enough points, if you aren't full paragon/renegade and RP, at the beginning will screw you over with those greyed out text. The relationships are a bit too linear - DA:O did it far better. Despite how it takes me about 30 hours per playthrough and I've done over 150 hours, it's still too short story-wise, and too much told through side quests.

But all of those are nitpicks, the game is still a masterpiece and I love it deeply.

This is fun, I'm gonna try another one.

Mass Effect 2

- The whole idea of the Lazarus project is derp-tastic. The notion of being able to bring a person back to life strains the good ol' suspension of disbelief something fierce. But they didn't even do anything interesting with it. With the exception of a few scenes, the whole literally-back-from-the-dead angle carries no weight whatsoever. Why kill off the protagonist when they're back in the fight after just one cutscene?

- The visual design of the female characters. More specifically, Miranda's skintight bodysuit and Jack's cupless leather boob-harness... thing. Yeah, it's basically the old 'chainmail bikini' complaint in a different setting. See, nobody dresses like that outside of a comic convention and especially not when they're expecting to enter combat on a regular basis. I suppose you could argue that the designs suit the character's personalities, but surely your artists can convey "stuck up perfectionist with daddy issues" and "primal nihilist who no longer gives a shit" without resorting to this. Oh, and then there's Samara. A vigilante warrior-monk who runs about in high heels and what looks like a cleavage-friendly swimsuit with pauldrons? Yeah, we all know what's going on here, especially since you were clearly able to resist the temptation to dress Grunt in an armoured thong. Seriously Bioware, you're classier than that. If I want to see scantily clad hot chicks on a screen (and hey, who doesn't every now and again?) then I'll just consult the internet.

- Planet scanning. Seriously, what the fuck? How did that get through without a single person raising their hand and pointing out that it was really fucking boring? Granted, it was less tedious than driving around a palette-swapped mountain range in a weightless tank, but that's not saying much.

- You do not need to use security mechs as enemies in damn near every level. Hell, it's a wonder that anyone uses them at all since half the time they're apparently going rogue or getting hacked.

- Is it just me, or are Thane's legs bizarrely short? If all your aliens are going to look suspiciously humanoid then you can at least get the proportions right.

- Arrival sucked donkeys. The plot had more holes than... a thing full of holes. (Spoilers follow) Most prominently, why would an indoctrinated person explain to Shepard exactly how to fuck up the Reapers' day, then helpfully maintain the systems required to do so despite having at least several days to sabotage them?

- Despite the above, the game is awesome.
That made me laugh, sad laughter because everything you said is true, but laughter nonetheless.

Well, fair enough, though can I do more than one? I can think of a few games I like that I can nitpick so I'm going to do two for this post.

First a nitpick about my favourite game of all time, Kirby's Fun Pak (though you may know it as Kirby Super Star). Why does Marx not appear in all the games before Milky Way Wishes? When I completed the game I could not help but think how cool it would have been if Marx had appeared as either Kirby's friend or just a normal citizen of Dreamland throughout the cut scenes of the other games in the game, so that when his betrayal is shown it would have much more impact.

Second and the last nitpick I will do for this post (though I may come back to do some more, could be interesting), Muramasa the Demon Blade. In Muramasa the Demon Blade you have the option to cook food to heal health, give you souls, and give temporary special effects. My nitpick is that to cook you simply have to have the ingredients and then click on what meal you want to cook and it's done. I don't know why but when I saw the option to cook I was hoping for a slight cooking minigame, that could use the motion controls the main game play was lacking, and if you did bad you would ruin the food and gain less health, while if you did good it would give you even more health or make the effects last longer.

Sure, why not?

Bioshock.

- The moral choice system is shallow and feels as if it was crowbarred in entirely for the sake of being there. What's more, there's barely any reason to take the evil option since Tenenbaum's gifts give you enough adam to almost make up the balance.

- Weapons could stand to be a lot more inventive. We're in a steampunk-ish undersea would-be utopia and we're still being handed the ol' pistol, SMG, shotgun, grenade launcher etc. Although I guess the plasmids kinda make up for it.

- The vita-chambers are silly. They defang all the threats by making death have no consequence. Fortunately you can turn them off in the options, but still...

- The game takes a decided dip in quality during the final act. Basically, everything after the Ryan confrontation carried a distinct hint of "meh".

- The game is way too easy overall. By the third level you'll be swatting big daddies down with relative ease, which is a shame since they were awesome enemies and it would have been nice for them to remain threatening. I have no problem keeping things accessible to newcomers, but that's what the 'easy' setting is for.

- A proper neutral ending would have been nice, rather than just the evil ending with the voiceover being read in a slightly different tone of voice.

- It's a great game. If you haven't played it I recommend looking into it.
DAMNIT! You totally ninjaed me. :(

But I will add that the Arcadia level was rather dull and uninspired. Yes, the other missions in the game also required collecting items, but it goes on for so long in that sequence that it's very easy to lose sight of the overall goal and it's also painfully obvious. The rest of the fetch quests at least were woven into the story that it's barely noticeable.

I also think that the game really lacks scares the second play through. I dunno about you guys, but I like horror games that can continue to scare me multiple times (SH, Eternal Darkness, etc) Bioshock's big scares are entirely scripted so once you've played through and gone into every room to collect things, there is really nothing scary about it anymore. It's still tense, but it's lost a lot of its horror bite.

Those are actually pretty legitimate criticisms...I'm not sure they'd qualify as nitpicks.
Nitpicking just means that these are things that aren't quite up to snuff, but do not make the game as a whole a huge pile of suckage. These things aren't panned out super well in the game, but they tend to be forgiven by most fans because everything else is really REALLY damn good.

Ratchet & Clank.

No lock-strafe. This is really only annoying after playing the sequels, which have it.

Mass Effect 2:

-Basically any part of the story that had to do with Cerberus except Jack and her loyalty mission. That includes Miranda, Jacob, Illusive Man, Project Lazarus, Shepherd and most of the old Normandy crew working for them for piss-poor reasons, Cerberus' upgrade from petty terrorist thugs to Illuminati-level superpower, etc. Yes, this is the whole main plot. The squadmate recruitment and loyalty missions in contrast are fantastic.

-A bit more variety in missions would have been welcome. Most of them are "shoot guys, then shoot more guys, then shoot gunship/YMIR mech". Thane, Samara and Kasumi's loyalty missions are nice that way.

Dragon Age: Origins:

-Goddamn the Fade and Orzammar take forever.

-While all six origins are good, about half of them don't really have a strong motive to carry on with the main plot. Would most people really feel loyal to an organization that probably recruited them against their will or out of desperation a short time ago and is now conveniently not around, or might they run for the hills?

-The Talents and Specializations aren't balanced.

-Don't really care for the crafting system.

Assassin's Creed 2:

-Combat is too easy, especially once you've unlocked half the weapons.
