I've never watched the show, but Jersey Shore is a reality show, correct? Aren't reality shows by their very nature dirt cheap to produce (no costs for writing, hiring actors, etc.)? The show is probably doing just fine especially with its inexplicable popularity, so I don't see the logic here at all.
