Oh boy, here we go. I hate being the metal elitist, but sometimes I'm just forced into that role. Look, buddy. Amon Amarth are not viking metal. They play perfectly fine melodic death metal, and they happen to sing about vikings. Lyrical themes do not determine a band's (sub)genre. Ever. If that were the case a band like Immortal wouldn't be black metal, since they barely ever sing about Satan. They'd be deepfreeze metal or something.punksnotdead said:They should of had it as the theme, since it was about vikings. Amon Amarth is Viking metal if you didn't know. Who else is disappoint?
Yeah, but it wouldnt fit with the general zaniness that the movie had. there was no one scene that screamed Metal, viking or otherwise.William MacKay said:its viking metal. Thor is a Viking godemeraldrafael said:Metal as in the Music Genre?

Then the kids would realize how awesome Amon Amarth is and they would start listing to it like they should.Sonicron said:No. Just... no.
I enjoy listening to them occasionally, but that kind of music would have stuck out like sore thumb, even more so considering how "Thor" was one of the more kid-friendly superhero movies.
The music would still not fit in the slightest.Flammable said:The difference being Slipknot are a bunch of pussies, Amon Amarth kick more ass than a frustrated Mexican farmer.Canid117 said:Did you actually watch Thor? It would have fit about as well as Slipknot would fit as the soundtrack to the Xmen movies.

Yes, yes it does, and it's better than sex.

That would be pretty cool.EvilPicnic said:You could use the same justification to argue that Slayer should have done the soundtrack for Schindler's List.
I never said that.TeeBs said:Amon Amarth wasn't in the movie because not every one shares the same music tastes as your oh so superior tastes
