That's incorrect.Major_Tom said:There were never any bathrooms in old Resident Evils either, although there were plenty of them in Silent Hill (for James to stick his hand in).
Fallout had toilets aplenty. As far as I can remember almost every building had one somewhere and I made it my personal mission to drink out of every one.gideonkain said:I noticed there were no bathrooms also, but I just assumed it was because they had outhouses somewhere, but then I didn't see those and I couldn't remember if Fallout had restrooms because I was playing Borderlands simultaneously and that game has toilets all over the place.
Duh, I should have remembered that horrible "eager slurping" noise you make.Hookman said:Fallout had toilets aplenty. As far as I can remember almost every building had one somewhere and I made it my personal mission to drink out of every one.
Anywhere they want, but probably on the bodies of dead adventurers.DuX1112 said:I can guess about dragons not needing a device to poop in, but where do giants go for... their large ones, right?
Oh, that's right, I remember it now (hardly enough for the whole mansion). Still I think there weren't any in 2 or 3. The RPD station certainly didn't have any.gideonkain said:That's incorrect.Major_Tom said:There were never any bathrooms in old Resident Evils either, although there were plenty of them in Silent Hill (for James to stick his hand in).

I know those are FPSs (or TPS/action adventure games), I mentioned them in order to show for the contrast between RPGs and shooters in terms of bathroom placement inside games: there is hardly a shooter WITHOUT bathrooms (heck even Mass Effect 2 had them for their shooter element), but in MANY RPG sandbox games, no bathrooms whatsoever (Fallout 3 had them, chiefly as health refill stations). Hmmm...s69-5 said:There are flushable toilets in FFVII. (RPG)
And sorry but: Dead Space 2, Duken Nukem Forever, Crysis 1 & 2 are not RPGs (FPS shooters they are). But in keeping with the theme they represent, there are toilets in MGS2 as well.
But honestly, I could give a crap if an RPG has a toilet...
Yeah this is what I was saying, bathrooms and bathroom-going routines could really provide for interesting gameplay. Thanks for reminding me of Bloodlines, I was stalking victims in alleys and bathrooms, I remember the thrill of it vividly now.thaluikhain said:"Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines" had restrooms in various buildings. The NPCs would occasionally stop whatever they were doing and go into one, and men would wander into alleyways to relieve themselves. They made an animation for a male model urinating, and made the most of it.
This was important to the game, as you need to get people alone to drink their blood...though, following people of either sex into their bathroom for the purpose of attacking them does add realism, but in a rapist/serial killer sorta way.
