Yes, they are, to have a shooter and not release it on pc is stupid, especially when the prequel was on pc. EA just gave me a reason to launch that nuke...Plinglebob said:Can anyone post that "Happily Dying" picture for this guy? damn, sorry guys, not tryin to sound like a jerk or anything, but this just rehashes the fact that it looks like pc gaming is dying.
OT: Hopefully they'll release it eventually as I enjoyed Dead Space and shooters are far more fun on the PC.
I buy you some knuckle dusters. It is like visceral studios are mocking us. I hate them now, time for the torching and pitchforks.Asehujiko said:One day I'll go hunt down and punch every fucking console fanboy executive who think it's a good idea to release cliffhangers and then make them platform exclusive in their face.
Why? Any particular reason? Considering some of the eariler posts said the first one had naff controls on the PC, surely it's better then on console?Keralastic said:I guess I'll just grab it for the PS3 like I did for the first, but I won't be able to truly enjoy it as much as I could.
One of many PC elitest quotes. I'm sick and tired of this shit. You have the stronger gaming rig, fine. You have more options, dedicated severs, okay. Repeatedly showing off, and slagging off the console "plebs", why? It's not just about dead space either, it's about every topic involving a comparison with PC. Same arguements, same supeior comments.Slavik_91 said:Well as the old saying goes, "If it's not for the PC, it's probably rubbish."

"Survival Horror" is actually an appropriate name for it. Gore + Scavenging....I mean as far back as I remember "survival horror" referred to games like Resident Evil.Onyx Oblivion said:uh. um. shit. As a huge fan of FEAR 1 and FEAR 2, neither of them evoked fear in me.hansari said:What your thinking of is "psychological horror". Games that actually get in your head an unnerve...the last one I can think of playing was FEAR1 (unfortunately FEAR2 went in a different direction)
Then maybe your just immune to it all.Onyx Oblivion said:As a huge fan of FEAR 1 and FEAR 2, neither of them evoked fear in me.hansari said:What your thinking of is "psychological horror". OH HELL NO. Monolith's other series, Condemned has managed to scare the fuck out of me. Particularly the first game. Actually, I couldn't even finish the first game.hansari said:Then maybe your just immune to it all.Onyx Oblivion said:As a huge fan of FEAR 1 and FEAR 2, neither of them evoked fear in me.hansari said:What your thinking of is "psychological horror". In which case you should notify the authorities to call you in case of a terrorist event. Preferably when John McClane can't make it or is busy. (it would be rude to just cut in on his action)
It wasn't even that gory, and there weren't even that many startle moments. Go figure. I got startled once when a still alive miner surprised me in a storing cabinet. That was all. I can see that Dead Space tries to be genuinely scary with it's lighting and sound effects, but it never got through to me.Onyx Oblivion said:PC gamers get enough great stuff. Like they'll miss this "survival shooter". Note: Dead Space was NOT survival horror. There is no horror in "startle" scares. Just surprise and flinching.
Survival because you do have to scrounge for ammo and explore. Shooter, because you see alien, you shoot it. And they made action the primary focus. While insulting me with so called "puzzles".
That said, I had a good time with the first game. But it wasn't a horror game. Unless gore=horror.
Yeah Condemned had a way of getting in your head. I liked the story too, but it gets too sci-fi in the second game.Onyx Oblivion said:OH HELL NO. Monolith's other series, Condemned has managed to scare the fuck out of me. Particularly the first game. Actually, I couldn't even finish the first game.
Not to mention that your foes are IN YOUR FACE. In the rest of today's horror games, they tend to be a good distance away, and at gun point. Low ammo supply or not.hansari said:Yeah Condemned had a way of getting in your head. I liked the story too, but it gets too sci-fi in the second game.Onyx Oblivion said:OH HELL NO. Maybe cause rather than "scavenging" for ammo and what not, it literally made you fight with whatever the hell was laying at your feet at the time.
To me it was the death scenes that kinda left you startled and staring wide eyed at the screen.Cowabungaa said:I can see that Dead Space tries to be genuinely scary with it's lighting and sound effects, but it never got through to me.
We still have Valve and Blizzard. That's good enough for me.Brad Shepard said:So, they get fucked over for MW2 and now this?

I'm a fucking sissy who runs to mommy and daddy to kill bugs. Well, those weird "cave cricket" things, at least.Macgyvercas said:Maybe you're braver than I am.
