Of course, of course. To be honest I don't like much dubstep myself.

But it all seems to come from a misconception, rather than an actual dislike of the genre. Can't they just say "I hate obnoxious wobble bass"? Or more like "I hate grime"?

I guess it's just my philosophy towards music. The more you listen to it (intently), the more you like it...

And then you listen to too much and then you hate its guts.

OT: I'm almost 30 and listen to dub when I play HoN.
I like listening to dub while playing HoN too. It really gets the mood going while I am high. Here's my personal favourite.

This thread should be about the love of dub now.

EDIT: I have a bad habit of doing these double posts...

Its a long description so ill just cut to the chase. Keep Dubstep out of gaming. Idc if people enjoy it. Just enjoy it elsewhere.
Indeed.
I'd also like to add the following to the list:

Classical music (i.e. Beethoven, Baach etc.)
80's electro pop
Anything that has ever been on the billboard top 100
Punk, Post Punk, Punk Rock
Rock, Hard Rock
Rap, Gangsta Rap, R&B
Heavy Metal, Black Metal, Death Metal and Trash Metal
Pop music

I don't care if people enjoy it, I demand that it be kept out of my games.
They can always enjoy it somewhere else.

Also, I'd like to ban anime from all TV stations and most torrent sites.
I don't care if people enjoy it, they can always enjoy it somewhere else, no?
I see what u did there.

One reason is that while human sex is not allowed on Youtube, there are a lot of animal mating videos on it, and people blame the furries.
Dubstep suckt vo dood, stop et i jen ol.
What the shit were you actually trying to say? xD I read what you wrote and it actually made me laugh. I'd like to take everything you post out of context, then put it all on one page in a long incomprehensible string of ramblings.

This is one of my favourite bands at the moment, the video is class too.
First part: explaining to some guy why people hate furries.
Second part: "Dubstep is terrible, put it in your ass" in my local dialect.

Well, it's an act of extreme courage to ask oneself "what do i hate in x and exactly why ?"
As a human race we're still too primitive to produce more than a handful individuals capable of withstanding such test per generation. Still not there.

I personally tend to shy away form anything dubstep, while there's some good stuff it seems that a lot of stuff that ends up popular (in the UK at least) is the artless, repetitive drivel made by people who should really be considered mentally impared.

Much like the UK garage scene.

Or R&B globally... there was a time when that stood for Rythem and Blues rather than Rubbish and Bass.

Or the modern (see anything after the '80s) gangsta rap which is mostly made by people less gangster than Bill Gates.

And why is punk mostly people crooning to guitar about not having a girlfriend these days instead of the old fiery anti-establishment messages or general anarchic fun?

... I've started rambling so I think I'll wander off for a worthers original and watch some McGyver or something...

Look yeah the MW3 adverts we're utterly stupid with the dubstep thingy under it.

You know though that there are sure games in what dubstep will work. Never say never, it is very possible that a lover of dubstep makes a nice 2d platformer where the music is integral part of it.

It isn't my music but hey that is life.

Hell in the hair metal days screaming guitars and blowing through the limiters was normal.

Remember Robot Unicorn Attack, would you really play it without that awesome soundtrack. Nope.. i am sure there are games in what dubstep might work. You know what I like .. trip hop, down beat, bristol sound. Electronic yes but in slow beats. Think massive attack, Portishead [well those are the two biggest], tricky and more. It can be rough and soft, some powerful like a heartbeat others are soft and airy. Ah.. games right. Mmm rez would be nice with such.

There's tons of genres and sub-genres of virtually the same stuff, so saying you don't like dubstep is like saying you don't like a certain species of plant that can only exist in a certain place in some remote corner of Earth. It's basically a meaningless statement. That said, I like dubstep, but I enjoy other genres more, such as electro or house. Though I don't like Skrillex' songs at all, I think they're just the sort of stereotypical wobwob nonsense that everyone says dubstep is.

This so very much!
now I dont have anything against people who like Dubstep or whatever, people can like what they like, I just hope it doesn't become a trend in the things that I love, as in for example games and cartoons, it's already ruined radio stations for me.
Guess you gotta live with it, but that doesn't mean you gotta like it.

I don't get why Dubstep is being treated as this big evil monster. It's basically slower Drum n Bass (a lot of Dubstep DJs were Drum n Bass DJs previously) and Drum n Bass never got this kind of reaction.

I also agree with those people who say that if the music suits the game, then it doesn't matter what genre it is.

Also, if you don't like a game for whatever reason (story, graphics, controls, soundtrack) then don't buy it. Simple.

As Dubstep is a current trend, the only games you need to worry about it getting into are the ones that would deliberately try to be current and trendy.

If it wasn't dubstep it'd be Nu-metal in the late 90s or clanging garage rock in the early 00's. I doubt we'll be hearing Skrillex in a Fallout or Assassin's Creed anytime soon.

Dubstep is very hit and miss with me.

I like some of it; but a lot of it just sounds aweful.
