No extra tombs to raid in Tomb Raider, says Crystal Dynamics.

Uh.. isn't there already an article about this, somewhere here?
Doesn't mean there can't be a discussion about it in the Gaming forum. We love talking about DLC and multi-player and the current state of the industry due to those two things being shoved into every game that doesn't need them anyway, so I figured it'd be a good fit.

I did not expect it to move to a discussion about Legacy of Kain, though.

I came into this thread just to make a post about how it'd be awesome for more Legacy of Kain.

Quite happy to see I was ninja'd. ^_^

Id have liked more tombs to raid :(

Also my pc doesnt like tomb raider's multiplayer, gets really slowy and choppy, even on lowest settings so thats DLC im not interested in.

Also on legacy of khain: i preferred kains games but loved raziels speeches more.

Sorry about that. It's just someone brought it up, and I've been waiting for years for another one, so if there is another one in the works I wanna know about it.

...why? Bringing him back won't fix a damn. If anything, it will cheapen his sacrifice. I even shed a tear over that last scene, dammit. And it's really sad that in many players' minds Kain plays second fiddle even though it's his series.
...ok, you got me there. Look, I love the LoK series and I want another one allready. It's just I think Raziel is a more interesting character with better gameplay. Besides, the timeline is so messed up I don't even know if they could make a sequel. A reboot may be the only course of action that would work.

Considering there's been five games in the franchise, they'd probably go for a reboot just for the sake of pulling in an audience. I mean, as much of a cult hit as they are, they're pretty much in the same camp as games like Psychonauts or Okami where people bring them up today and talk about how amazing they were, but nobody else (yes, that's an exaggeration, especially because on this website it's likely that a bunch of people around here played them and want a new one) ever actually played them.

Case in point, I've never actually played a Legacy of Kain game.

I think you can get Blood Omen and Soul Reaver, the first two games, on the PSN. Try 'em sometime. I think you can get them on GoG and Steam too, but the controls are not great from what I've heard.

There are two sides to this, first, they can't really add anything to the single player story. It would be good if they put the resources into a new game instead of some expansion pack, on the other hands, some non-story related Tombs would be cool. Just....tombs.

I'm just so tired of talking about Tomb Raider now. I'm not normally a bitter, resentful person but this game has just brought it all out in me. Now I'm emotionally exhausted and don't want to hear the name Lara Croft ever again.

I think the simple fact that a Tomb Raider game is more likely to have multiplayer DLC rather than single player speaks volumes on the subject though. Just give that some thought.

[small]All I ever asked for was some some tombs... is that truly too much?[/small]
