Considering movie critics tend to be hard on films based on former cartoons, games, comic books, basically anything not familiar with them, they tend to give it bad reviews. I hardly see a movie when it's in theaters anyways, but if I hear it's decent after the first couple of days, I might consider seeing it. I always liked G.I. Joe.
Considering movie creators tend to make shtty films on films based on former cartoons, games, comic books, basically anything that has a cheap or cash'in'able IP........

Out of all the films I have seen in the last 4 or so years Hell boy and Star trek were the best, Dark night was good,Iron man, Incredible Hulk was, The Mummy 3, POTC 3 were ok.

Ya I know I like the mummy but LAOTH transformers.... how the hell can I live with myself *rolls eyes*

=======
Lets see characters are a bit.... off, the fiction relies to heavily on tech(personal generic suits....oh gawd this is Xmen all over again ><...ya..I hated Xmen....).

So will you get a mix of star ship troopers and transformers lets just hope its not "2+2"....the world could not handle it....

Wait, I don't remember a GI Joe named "Snow Job."
Either you are trolling, or your G.I. Joe memory is failing you: I registered just to comment on this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_Job_%28G.I._Joe%29 and http://www.yojoe.com/action/83/snowjob.shtml

Well, that's your opinion. I enjoy good movies, but I have an affection towards really cheesy movies, which is what most nerd media spin offs tend to be. Probably because they require no thinking, just pointing and laughing at the horrible cinematics.

So all in all, I can like a movie you loathe. I hope you are okay with that.

no no no... its going to be worse than shit, because they have some stupid band singing: "I.. am.. AMERICAN BADASS"
That would be Kid Rock and his band, probably one of the few musicians (yes, he's surprisingly a musician... he can play every instrument that's with him on stage... I was shocked when I saw him do it) alive that has an insanely deep respect and love for all types of music.

Further, his band is insanely talented. All of them have gone from playing in run down bars and have worked their way up to insane levels.

So, sure. If you think hard work, dedication, and love for an art is stupid then I can't say you're wrong.

Edit: Unless it's some band that's covering it. Then I'd agree.

"Our starting point for this movie is not Hollywood and Manhattan but rather mid-America," said Paramount Vice Chairman Rob Moore. "There are a group of people we think are going to respond to the movie who are normally not the first priority. But we're making them a priority."

Marketing translation: Dem Redneks shur are gonna like dis here movie. It's got s'plosions and Marlon Wayans. He sure was funnie in Little Man.

I'm only watching because of Snake Eyes. He can't tell anyone how bad the movie is. But not because he's a fictional character.

Well..considering that I don't really see G.I. Joe ever being a big thing outside of the States...This movie is doomed to fail from the begining.

I know it will suck, but I bet it will be mindlessly entertaining, and that's ok!
I'd actually prefer it if no films got screened for critics before they are released... people seem to make up their minds about films they haven't even seen (and after they do they seem unable to form their own opinions).

Honestly, I lost the little interest I had in the movie the first time they showed the guys in power armor dodging missiles. I already am getting tired of seeing that in video games, I really don't need a movie about it.

I live in NZ and I'm looking foward to watching this.
( Why is it that koreans always get into bad movies. Wolverine, Speed Racer and now this!) Hopefully its a good movie.

It's all starting to add up. If the signs are true then this has the potential to be one god awful movie.

So am I the only one that expected this movie to be campy and terrible but was planning to love it because of that?

I'm really hoping its so bad I cry from laughing. I love movies like this that are supposed to be taken serious but are just so terrible.

Kind of like Saw. That series is so utterly terrible that I can't help but chuckle at the raw crap that it is.

From what I know they won't even have Cobra Commander in this which is a shame.

I miss the old GI Joes. Not the huge ones but the smaller ones that had metal joints. Those things were the boss. These new plastic joint ones make me sad.

It seems plenty of old franchises and stories are being remade...and sucking ass in the process. Is this such a surprise to learn they don't want us to see how much crap it may be?
