In my view it all boils down to politicians not wanting to take action that will cost them votes. So instead of actually having to do anything, all they have to do is make sure it becomes a "communotair probleem", something you can't get an agreement over with the other community and they "can't get an agreement over it". In that, I think the republicans and democrats have learnt a thing or two from our politicians

.
Quite a few parties gain popularity from this, but personally I don't give a rat's posterior about BHV, but the last elections was all about that. A part of me thinks it's a set up to show "look how good our local government handles things, we don't need Belgium, why not just split up.". If that's true, I'm going to vomit.
As for the money flows, I'm flemish and I don't care about those. So what, money flows from one side of the country to another. That will always happen. If I follow that logic far enough I have to start my own one man republic, since I pay more taxes than I get in return.
I love my country, am not too fond about our high taxes, but I can see why they're needed.
Edit: on the no government thing: it's no problem, as you know well enough. But something tells me that if it was mentioned in the constitution that all fundings and salaries of political parties and ministers would stop if there wasn't a new government within 3 months after the elections, that we wouldn't be in this situation. Of course... those same idiots are the only ones who can put that in there.
