Umm if you read the comics WOlverines past is pretty in depth and actually quite interesting by this point. However the movie..pleh. Too many mutants just for the sake of being mutants. The special effects in all honesty felt...i dunno. Off. Too much fury and rage to try to squeeze into a pg-13 shell.
In all fairness it's near impossible to adapt anything truthfully for years and years of comics back and side story into a 2 hour movie. That goes with any book to film translation. But the x/men movies are more like shallow foul tips then homeruns. X2 was the best one imo.

ummm how about not watching them instead of creating a bitching thread.
Seconded. Nothing you say will stop them from making these movies. They are making money off of them why should they stop?

Well stop going to see them, they're not about to stop making them anytime soon, they've already announced a sequel to Wolverine, then there's a Magneto movie due out as well as a Deadpool one in the works..... so looks like you're fresh outta luck. Just ignore them.
No, they're only talking about making a Wolverine sequel.

They is not only talk about it, they're doing it.

But seriously go and see Wolverine before dissing it, it's worht the money if you can see passed the overwelming comeos and I'm not talking about Deadpool or Gambit.

The best one was X2. X1 was ok for a setup film, and it was brand new so there was that excitement. X3 was a big let down IMO.

I enjoyed Wolverine for what it was, not what I THOUGHT it should be. It's not Sophie's Choice, and there are inaccuracies and things changed from the comics, but that's what happens when you adapt for film. Liev Schreiber put in a solid performance and Hugh Jackman carried the whole thing on his broad, brawny, tank top wearing shoulders. The two of them did a great job with what they were given and completely committed to what they were doing, that's what makes them pros. Some of the other periphery characters...not so much, BUT not such a let down as to make me want to kill myself and curse paying the money to see it. It DOES win however for the worst after credits tag ever. (Well, I guess depending on which you saw. I lost out in my theater)

I'm actually interested to see what they do with the Magneto movie because it involves Ian Mackellen (who is spectcular), and they'll probably have to deal with the very real and emotionally difficult setting of the Holocaust. Something tells me it'll be less of a "joyride film" for that reason alone.

They're not going to stop till the money stops, and even then they may just beat a dead horse. So if you don't like 'em don't go see 'em. That's really all you can do.

OR they could just keep making them, people who wanted to watch them could watch them, and people who don't wanna watch them could just like... NOT watch them and stop whining.

well I sorta hope that there are no more... unless they do one right for once... x3 was a travesty... wolverine wasn't as bad but still sorta sucked...

the only way they can redeem themselves is with the deadpool movie (if it actually happens) but the only way that'll do it is if they are true to the ACTUAL STORY... which won't happen since they already screwed it up with wolverine...

sigh

I agreed with the dude who said that you have to remove the movie from your comic expectations. If the fucking movie was the exact same story as the comic, why would I go see it? I already know what the comic story is. I expect the movie to do something completely different or not be made at all.

Also, whining about comics changing are like people who ***** about how beer isn't actually beer anymore. Things evolve to meet the expectations of the next generation and go where the money is. If you expect everything in life to stay PURE, you're in for one helluva disappointing life.

don't i know it... and yeah, i see your point but i'm not hoping they're EXACTLY the same... just more so than they have been... its mostly the case with x3 but it applies in general too... yeah i suppose you could say its just another one of the many, many marvel realities, but in the end the movie seemed more like the standardised movie with x-men wallpaper (if you forgive me for the terrible similie) rather than an actual xmen movie... its hard to explain but it just didn't... FEEL right...
