At a recent press event, Bethesda's VP of Marketing and Public Relations Pete Hines told attendees not to hold their breath in regards to a new game in the Elder Scrolls franchise. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/974/974529p1.html

Damn. Ah well. At least they are witing./ If they rushed into things like some game companies do, I think TES 5 would suck

This is were crazed fanboys threaten group suicide if there demands for a new game aren't met.

I think they will do a game but someone may need to buy the franchise. I can't imagine a non-bethseda elderscrolls but i guess they couldn't completely ruin it, whoever buys it.

Well I thought it was pretty obvious theyd develop the next title in the series for the next generation of console. Hence why they havent announced it yet..

I was...disappointed by Fallout 3, to say the least. Mostly a fault of the writing, but if I zoned out enough it would only be slight control issues and tedious reliance on VATS.

Then there was the deals with the DLC, although frankly I shouldn't be saying anything about that since I own the PS3 version. Still makes me chuckle though.

They also have a tendency to dump games after they're done, either releasing one patch to fix some bugs or just passing it all over the mod community.

If they don't put out another elder scrolls, I may have to get mad. They won't like me when I'm mad. I'll bust out my silver claymore and slay all their mother's ghosts!!

I have no problems with them handing it over to the mod community. They seem to accept the fact that they aren't going to do everything right, so they make it easier for people to do whatever the hell they want with it.

hey, now this involves bethesda studios, let us complain about them.
'cause, yeah, they would really benefit from an elder scrolls 5 so not having a sequel is a bad move on their end, plus it makes me sad:(

Pete sure is backtracking from all the previous interviews last year where he promised TESV by 2010 !!! I think he is just snowing now because he slipped up last week and let us know something about new content for Oblivion. I hope by new content he wasn't talking about the books, because in the interview last week he was discussing DLC and the size being KOT9 or MR sized DLC - leading all who read it to believe he meant new Oblivion DLC, not books! However, I have seen some awesome Oblivion stories in the contests, and have written one myself for this years contest - plus have read a good deal of the original Elder Scrolls lore, and it is Awesome! So I hope these books are great!
