No New Elder Scrolls!

The article seemed to be implying more that TESV was simply down the road quite a bit, rather than that it doesn't exist. Or that at least we shouldn't be expecting any news on their next big project for quite some time. Honestly, if it takes them a while to bridge the gap between the next game being like Oblivion, a game that I spent three or four months playing before I was bored of it, as opposed to Fallout 3, one that I spent about two weeks playing, I'm perfectly willing to wait.

Yea, they never actually said that there wasn't going to be a new Elder Scrolls.

To be fair Oblivion is the fourth in the franchise. With fallout they are doing something new (with the same engine).

They may revisit the franchise later, yet there are rumours of new oblivion DLC, so it is not completely abandoned.

They'll make one eventually, I think he was more talking about the fact it'll be a while. The length of time between releases for the base games averages out to something like 5 years.

I have no problems with them handing it over to the mod community. They seem to accept the fact that they aren't going to do everything right, so they make it easier for people to do whatever the hell they want with it.

I didn't really like Oblivion that much anyway, yeah it was good and I played it a lot, but I loved Fallout 3. So yeah, this is actually kind of good news for me. *Throws small party alone*

I read somewhere they were focusing on Fallout first and foremost, with multiple sequels and expansions, but TESV is definately being created, even if it is at a slower pace/smaller team.

That makes me a sad panda, seeing as I loathed Fallout 3, and loved TESIV: Oblivion.
