I don't get all the hate for her. I'm not a U.S citizen, nor have I ever been there, so I certainly cannot make a call on the issue, but I've yet to hear anything bad about her - except a lot of hate, which seems to be for hate's sake. I'd love to figure out why this is so.
What happens is that many people in America want to add insult to injury and go out of their way to insult her. I actually like her, yes she can make mistakes but so can everybody. And then there's the people that jump on her every mistake and claim that they are the downfall of democracy. People don't like her policies, so they result to insults. This is actually the reason that politics depress me so much. When either side realizes that they're wrong (happens more on the left for some reason) they immediately resort to petty insults and false accusations. Some of these accusations can be true (both Palin and Obama have little experience running a country) and some can be completely false and complete bullshit made in order to ruin one's reputation (Palin wanted Gabby Gifford, that congresswoman who got shot in the head, to get shot and she wants all liberals, jews, muslims, etc. to die.)
I can understand how you can get confused with American politics. Most of our leadership is corrupt, and will do anything in order to appease those who will vote for them. However, once elected they forget about the PEOPLE that elected them, and focus on special interest groups that will get them re-elected.
There's also the double standard held by most politicians, and even most citizens. The idea that I can do this, but you can't. Example: There are multiple pictures of Bush morphing into the devil/some sort of animal/anything that they can think of to ruin his public opinion. When a single picture, emphasis on the SINGLE PICTURE part, of Obama starts circulating where he looks like a monkey, people immediately cry racism and "Redneck KKK activities."
