Ok that was a good episode especially when you arguing two of my favourite Christmas movies and making good point for each of them too!

Baby Kermit?

You mean, Robin?

Anyway, yes, we have exactly two copies of A Christmas Carol in our house. For serious-British-dramatic-straight-Dickensian Christmas Carol, we went with the Patrick Stewart production.

The other is Muppet Christmas Carol. QED

Is that what the drinking round is for? I maybe started watching this show a month or two ago and never understood that part.

Yes, Chris went easy on Kyle by not arguing that the Muppet Christmas Carol is also the best *musical* version of A Christmas Carol.

OT: There is only one version of "A Christmas Carol" in my house and it has the Muppets in it like all good over used stories should.

I admit, I love Scrooged. Though I always asked my mom why he didn't just call the rest of the Ghostbusters to help him deal with those Christmas spirits...

... And then I saw the Ghostbuster's Christmas Carol and realized they'd ruin Christmas forever.

That felt... half-hearted. There are a lot of actually good reasons why both films are fun, and all Chris can come up with is "It... it's the muppets! The Muppets!" I mean, not that I disagree, the Muppets are friggin awesome. It just seemed like he wasn't really trying.

Meh. In my book, Chris already won when he brought up Groundhog Day, the rest is just filler.

PS: Key point, the Muppets have such a diverse cast, they can do virtually any movie justice. Imagine a modern-day remake of Grease. Horrible, right? Now imagine it with Muppets...

I'm sorry guys, but you all are wrong, the Patrick Stewart version of "A Christmas Carol" is the superior version.

What? No mention of the Marley and Marley song?
Clearly someone must remedy this.

I haven't actually seen Scrooged, so I'll just say Muppets is my preferred version. Plus, it was my first version of A Christmas Carol, so it's got that nostalgia factor.

Regardless of the Spit-Take DQ, Muppet Christmas Carol wins. I fully agree with Chris' drinking round argument: we don't need any other version of The Christmas Carol, because the Muppets provided the only one we would ever need.

Out of the two, I've got to side with Kyle on this one. Not only have I had muppet oversaturation but Scrooged is a fantastically weird Christmas movie.

That being said, Huh Huh Humbug (the Beavis and Butthead version of a Christmas Carol) is clearly the greatest. Not only is Beavis the greatest possible jerkwad Scrooge who's just the manager at Burger World and abuses his ugly employee with his ugly children, and not only does he spend the episode trying to watch a Christmas Carol porno instead of reading a damn book (featuring Bob Scratchitt and Tiny Johnson) but at the end of the dream sequence all he learned is that he had a VCR so he could watch porno and that that was cool.

Also the lesson that Coach Buzzcut tried to teach him was that because Beavis never did anything with his life, he never scored. And that is just a good lesson for the childrens.

But... he didn't actually spit...

Anyway, yeah, Muppets over Scrooged anyday. Scrooged just came off as really annoying, where as Muppets was fun and had Michael Caine.

I'll take Scrooged way over muppets, Scrooged tried something new rather than just have some new coat of paint.
I also find the muppets really annoying, and they just added to an already over-saturated genre, which I am sure you can call christmas carol movies, because we already have prehistoric (Flinstones) and sci-fi (Jetsons) christmas carols, we have some that were made in 1923, we have the western Christmas Carol, we have Modern Day Christmas Carol, we have a CG Christmas carol, and then there's the muppet Christmas Carol. At least Scrooged stands out with its own take on the source material.

Yeah, the opening song and the Ghost of Christmas Present's songs are some of the best Christmas songs out there. And I thinks its the ONLY musical version of a Christmas Carol.
