I shot only people who shot me but I was half-expected a body armor heavy class for multi player, like a downplayed Jugger.

just call me lil'Makarov,

now I usually play the good character because I have a strange soft spot for a arrangement of pixels but if I'm supposed to be a evil genocidal sociopath then I'll be a genocidal sociopath.

I tried killing the terrorist and got Game overred for it. So I hung back until there were cops shooting at me and then it was on.

I moaded temt he fuck down. I loved seeing peoples falling over in a mexican wave type death. Instead of going up in time, they all fell down. Was rather comical.

Oh and i shot the guys trying to crawl away from me, put the guy out of their missery

When the level started I started shooting, I shot everyone who wasn't wounded, and then I shot a few wounded people as they crawled away. I never even thought to shoot at the terrorists, I blew up most of the police with nades, those riot shields were a pain in the arse.

Then Markarov shot me, leaving me with a tiny tinge of guilt that my last act was to kill a bunch of innocent people. Liked the level, liked the game, wasn't a big deal though.

When the mission started I was very excited because the elevator noises was in the first teaser. When "we" exited the elevator and the russians started shooting my jaw dropped. I did not expect what happened to happen at all. I didn't shoot any civilians, but I think that might have been due to the shock i got from what was happening as well as anything else. I never tried to shoot the terrorists, I did however shoot at anyone who whot at me, ie the security guards. It's hard to describe how I was feeling, but it is pretty much summed up with the sentence that went through my head when they started shooting: "What the f**k".

I'm fairly sure that 99% of people who have played a game (any game) in which you get to shoot a gun has at some point tried to kill innocent bystanders to see what happens. I don't really see this as any different except for the fact that in MW2 they fall down instead of just staring at you and repeating the same line they are programmed to say over and over.

Hence I went to town on those pixels! Second play through I didn't bother with it, I just left the game playing and went away to make a cup of tea.

However, each have their own constitution limits and if it did happen offend or horrify, you could skip the level, so there is no problem with it.

It was so boring so I switch to something a little more... disturbing.
And why did you walk so damn slow? If the civis can run away I can't kill them. For ever kill russia will kill a thousand so I'm responsible for every thousand deaths... as soon as I heard that I replayed the level. twice!

I see topics on whether or not you have played the level but I'm interested in what you did when you played it. Step by step how you reacted to playing the level.

MY EXPERIENCE
I didn't shot at all. I looked around, quite shocked, waiting for someone to ask me why I wasn't shooting. By the time when went down to the ground level I shot at some guy who was crawling away. It was a instinctive reaction from playing too many FPS games but the shot didn't kill him, so I stopped firing.

When the police arrived I tried to shoot the terrorists in the back. I was killed instantly. Upon restarting I noticed the police managed to kill a few of terrorists so I waited until there was only a couple left and tried to shoot them in the back again. I died instantly again. I tried to run back into the building and shot them from inside but I was killed again (I realised I might have some explosives strapped to me). So I just completed the mission as it was laid out.

I have to say, because my way of playing the level wasn't allowed, I felt a little manipulated. But it was very affective. I hadn't felt that disturbed playing a game since the first time I saw Sub-Zero rip off a head with the spine still attached.

So what did you do? Shoot and love it? Hide in a corner? Not shoot at all? Not judging, it is just a game, but it's interesting to see how people react to it. And how they contextualise what they're doing.
I pretty much killed anything that moved.

I pirated the game and that level annoyed the hell out of me. You can't move fast, it lasts forever and you get a bullet to your stomach when the mission ends. I hate Call Of Duty MW2. That game is so damn retarded. The fact that roach and ghost and every other protagonist gets killed annoyed the hell out of me.
Yeah, I know I've spoiled it, I don't care.
Stfu, you pirated it. your opinion is no longer valid, we dont care.

*facepalm*... and people ask me why the escapist annoys me. Also, Who are you to speak for everyone? Yeah, I pirated it. I don't want to fork out 60 fucking euros for that fail fest.
I'm a PC gamer, and a one that does what he says. You, however, are a console person. It's too complex for you to understand.

I shot a bit to begin with, and killed the cops there, but i found that walking through the metal detectors and having them go off really brought it home to me, on the other side i saw people dragging wounded friends away and was absolutely shocked..
by the time we went down a level and saw the piles of dead and dying i was absolutely disturbed, but sobered up once the cops arrived and played the rest of the level as normal.

still very shocking though

note. i havent played any of the other much flaunted 'butcher civilians' games like GTA so maybe ive not been deadened by the 'violence is funny' culture as much as other posters, but i think those games are cast in a different light - the CoD MW series are supposed to be realistic (i say supposed as MW2 got less and less so as it progressed) whereas GTA is just taking the piss..

but either way - 'No Russian' deserves its controversy in my opinion.

I can't believe so many of you can be objective pansies. I dislike massacring unarmed civilians, but it was a change of pace, it's a bloody game, and it's your job.

If my job was to save civilians and then I had a morally gray choice involving killing a group to save a larger one, I'd probably be affected more because of it.

This level you could either not shoot or shoot. My job was to shoot. Nothing bad would happen as a consequence of doing either, so I shot. I've had no regrets about it yet.
