I live next to an old man who sings loudly while drunk and a psychotic little shit whose parents are constantly yelling at each other and thier dog is always barking.

I WANT THEM ALL TO BURN! FOR THE SAKE OF MY EARDRUMS!

I am the noisy neighbour. I have to have my games/music turned up really loud. The people around here haven't complained yet though so i think i'm in the clear with it.
You will burn too! Damn you!

Oh God. My neighbor directly across from me plays really loud rap music and some video game (I'm pretty sure it's Gears of War) at about 2 am.
I don't see why my neighbors didn't complain about him before this.

I would like to point out, the neighbour ont he otherside of the noisey kid complained before me, but he didnt turn it down. He only turned it down for me because im more intimadating that a 86 year old man.
You know who's even more intimidating? A police officer who will file a complaint which will go to your landlord who will have to tell them to knock it off since his property just got dinged with that.
Unhappy landlord means that the Dad will probably skin the kid alive.

well it depends, I'm like the kid of which you speak, but I would barely get more than a few days a year total with the house to my self. if its only annoying for a few random hours every month, you might just grit and bare it.

anyone who makes noise on a week day eve, or even worse, a Sunday morning, should be banished to hell, yet I have to put up with people mowing their lawns (and cleaning their boats).

hypothetically, you and your neighbours have both worked hard for their own slices of land, you should work to compromise to ensure that both of you get the level of freedom that that should entail.

some people do like playing their music/movies loud, and don't do it simply because they have no regard or are trying to piss off their neighbours. I myself have been looking at buying my own place and am considering a house over an apartment only so that I would be able to crank it up louder!

EDIT:

oh yeah, and at least where I live in Australia there are anti noise laws, which are more than reasonable even for me. common sense ones such as no noise on nights where people need to sleep and mornings when people NEED to sleep in, you might consider looking into them.

Oh God, you got me started.

Neighbours to the left of me must have a cricket channel, because that's all I can hear from them. That and the usual sports-related noises, ie: cheering, booing etc. They have kids that run around and scream, as little kids do, but at 3am?!? The few times I've bothered to ask them to keep the noise down, someone yells at and smacks the kids, causing them to cry their eyes out for at least half an hour.

Neighbours to the right are relatively decent, although one of them owns one of those sporty motorcycles, and squeals away at all hours of the morning. I think he might have a cat stuck in the engine, with that sound...

The neighbours across from me are the worst though. Parties at least twice a week, that end up with a useless DJ playing "Living On A Prayer", and cutting out the chorus so the drunkards can wail along. I had to help a couple of hungover bastards off my roof a while back. Fireworks from who-knows-where at pretty much anytime of day. Not only that, but they leave garbage everywhere all up the street.

I live above an old man who gets up around mid day and has his TV turned up loud enough that I can hear every sodding word, right through till 2am or so most days. I tend to just turn my own stuff up, 'cause I don't really like the idea of getting pissy with an old dude.

Or at least I didn't until the time I asked him to turn it down around 1am one time (my floor was shaking with the noise!) and got told to fuck off. Now I just stick my cat boots on and thump my floor with my foot until it goes down. Just found out I'm not the only person who is fed up with him, turns out a few people have stuck complaints in about him and he's not far away from getting kicked out. What a pity.

Well our next door neighbours have a dog that barks for hours and hours.
And every time I confront them, they deny that their dog barks at all.
And this summer, they left said dog out till like 1 in the middle of the night. And it kept me up.And I had to wake up at 6 to go to work.

Those are the only real noisy neighbours I've had to deal with.

There's a guy across the street from me, every day at the same time for about an hour or two he would just start revving the enigine of a shitty old truck he keeps on his property. Occasionally he'd drive it around his little lot. Normally, not an issue because he does it around noon... but I work nights, 11PM to 7 AM so noon is my damned bedtime.

This went on every day for a year before I dismantled his truck on one of my nights off. No shit. Tires, engine parts, steering wheel, gas pedal, clutch pedal, brake pedal, were all taken off and sold to various chopshops around town or just dumpstered. That was about 6 months ago, around Halloween. He still hasn't been able to afford to rebuild it or get it running again.

I'm pretty sure we come under the title of noisy neighbours. Not music so much, but we tend to disagree on a daily basis, and we have deep, loud voices, so we're shouting alot, sometimes late at night.

I'd like to say I give a damn about the neighbours, but since we/they moved in we've had this mutual dislike for each other.

Not only are my neighbors across the street noisy but there a bunch of seventeen year old without any adults, so its an average party house. This ,means every couple of nights the streets are filled with drunk kids and me being woken up at 3am in the morning to people screaming or something stupid. I `ve put up with it for almost two years now , except now there coming into my yard and chilling at random times throughout the night. I dont know what the hell there doing but there leaving a whole lot of trash in my yard. I`ve gone to work several time now to find that there is garbage strewn around my yard. I talk to one of the kids living there stating that my yard isn`t a hang out spot and to stop it , but it hasnt stopped. I don`t know if i should call the cops or leave them alone. If i call the cops they might screw with me even more.So I`ve just kinda left it alone for the most part. Im hoping eventually the neighbor to there left will call the cops cause those kids keep smashing her trash cans during there crazy parties. The poor woman has probably gone through 11 trash cans or more in the last year.
