America sucks. I mean, I'm fine with Americans as sigular people, many of them are quite pleasant, and life would be far worse without JoCo and others, but the government, the south, and quite alot of the nation as a whole annoys me. They're just smug.

also, you have FOX news (I call it FAUX news), which means that you have an entire team of Hitlers over there.

I'm Russian, but I grew up on American pop-cultre and am fluent in English.

I view America as very uneven. The Americans I personally know range from great people to complete idiots.

I love/hate your pop-culture.

And let's not get into politics...

You're annoying, narcissistic, foolish little children who have just left the crib of life and decided that kicking everyone's toys is a really good idea and sometimes I feel like my country has to act as your social worker?

Okay in fairness you're a bipolar country, as in you seem to rush to the extremes of things, you have possibly the dumbest population I've ever known with an incompetence that is shocking and a lack of general knowledge that makes me question whether or not you actually have schools. On the flip side you also have a lot of highly intelligent individuals who shine just as bright as anyone else. You have some of the unhealthiest shit I've ever seen, my god the stuff you sell in supermarkets...just...what are they thinking?! It's like how to get yaself a heart attack 101.

Okay, cruel, but that is what I see and the supermarket thing is genuinely a concern of mine, when I was there fresh food was obscenely expensive and fruit/veg was...well, frozen or bust, everything else was chocolate pancake sausage on a stick.
I like a lot of americans, in fairness of the few dozen that I know I'm probably friends with over 3/4 and don't mind the rest too much. I just find as a country you seem to be extremely ignorant of the world, not just where stuff is and the fact that other cultures exist (and that that's okay) but that you're not the best, the world's been around a while now and no not everyone who isn't american lives in a third world country.

I blame the tourists. and Fox News. I wish Fox News would just die in a hole.

We do? That's news to me. And I have another question: Do you consider yourself superior to Americans?
A lot of Americans definately have a superiority complex. Online this is extremely obvious. Everytime I play with Americans they tend to be complete douchebags to anyone who isn't from the US. Hell, I even remember a bunch of Americans coming on a BFBC2 server for Dutch-speaking people (Server rules were: English or Dutch only) and they started trashtalking players because they were talking Dutch to eachother.

I haven't really come across all that many Americans in real life, but those I did tend to be "friendly", however 90% of that is just pure smoothtalking and they seem to always be drawing attention to themselves, I don't know if that's on purpose or just your culture, but it's kinda frowned upon around here.

Politics wise, it looks like a complete joke when I watch The Daily Show. Michelle Bachman's creepy eyes, Rick Santorum is now a sex act, all the news networks parrot each other's inflammatory headlines. At first I'm laughing, then I get sad. Obviously, the show is generalising the politics that goes on there, but man is America trolling.

I've lived there, and the people are great. Never met such friendly people, and even for being Pakistani, never had any racial abuse.

The Americans that can step back and go "fuck, we do some dumb shit" are pretty good, but that can be said for any country, your government can kinda be tossers sometimes, like the whole thing with Obama agreeing to hold a meeting on a different day cuz the republicans wanted that day for a debate or a rally or something. And the Americans that are all "RAWR We are America we fuck up never" need to look at their country for a couple more minutes than they do, but other than that, I'm alright with Americans

WOW......Im amazed at the short memory of peoples in other countries. How much american blood has been spilled since the 1940's for the liberation of nations in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the middle east. We were asked because we were the only ones who could help or had the power to. When the world asks you to be the cops, or cries upon you to say you have the power therefore you have the responsibility to help dont ***** when we do take action because were not helping your favorite cause. Step up and take charge yourself or sit down and shut up.
You weren't asked. You were attacked.

America has made some truly great things. But then again, they also have the Westboro Baptist Church and Fox News.

Seriously, somebody in your country has to honest to God, get rid of the Westboros, it's kinda shameful.

When it comes to America I don't hate the people so much as the country itself. As 9/11 was deserved, when a country is that arogant for that long then things like that happen and its the population who suffer. The americans are a varied and multicultured bunch and on the whole are pretty decent with a couple of dicks every now and then. I still belive that in the next ten years america will get worse and maybe even suffer a civil war as china begins to further dominate all sectors, including Economey, military power, technological advancement and world standing. I think the transition from a superpower to just another country will be hard for America but just like us english who once ruled half the world, we had our time in the limelight now yours is also coming to an end.

People with your attitude are the reason I don't like America.
I'm grateful the Americans helped with the liberation of Europe. But this self imposed "righteous saviour of the world"-role doesnt hold up anymore, if you think about the blatant disregard the US showed for human rights in the past few years. Does Guantanamo-bay ring a bell? And the wars in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan?
I would suggest you open your mind for other world views than your own, because you have obviously been reading one sided patriottic drivel if you believe the USA came into WW2 because Europe "asked" them. The USA was neutral until the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.
Furthermore the war was won by the Allies, not by the USA.

Eh, Welsh person here.

I neither like nor dislike America. Much like I neither like nor dislike my own country. I am totally indifferent.

I have friends in America. About the only thing I outright hate about it is the goddamned timezones.

...Make of that what you will.

As with many other countries, there's an unreasonably large number of people who vote for conservatives against their interest...

Other than that, you're just people, like people anywhere.

The US government does a lot of arseholeish things, but then its two main political parties are right-wing and hawkish by most of the world's standards. We've got the lesser of two evils at the moment.

So after reading the "what if 9/11 happened to another country?" thread, it seems quite a few people think that us 'mericans suck. I think I read one saying that we would laugh at them. And I am saddened by that. So I wonder: How do you view the U.S.A as a whole?
In my own opinion, I don't have much to say about America in a bad way although some of your shows (jersey shore, whoever made that should be shot) and commercialism pisses me off. I think America has done a lot of good for the sake of the world in regards to science and human rights. I also find that many Americans I have met in Australia <-(key words) have been a bit self important and arrogant as though they are the best country in the world and others are weak comparative appearing overall pretty stupid.

Other than that America is a good country and the people I have stayed with while there are very nice and intelligent people.

On a personal sporting note opinion.
Rugby Union (league is weak imo) and AFL are tougher than NFL. Why the excessive padding?

You say we think we act superior to you, but in doing so you declare your belief that you are superior to all the hundreds of millions of us here in America. But that makes sense, because you admitted with the soccer thing that youare a psychopath.
I do not. As I said in another comment, I think of you and everyone else on this planet as equals. And that psychopath thing was a joke taken from that "How british are you checklist" thread.
