seriously, every other day i hear that something crazy stupid deadly lives in austrailia, like super poison spiders and jellyfish, its like the entire continent is just a giant death trap, but why is it just austrailia? isnt there any other place on the planet with that many deadly things? or is it just a conspiracy from their british cousins to make fun of them about something besides dingos and crocodile dundee?

It's not all that bad here really. Ok sure they're all there but seeing that Australia is so large, a deadly animal isn't the first thing you'll come across, especially in the city. Note: I did see a snake in my yard last week though >_>

Arr mateys, there be plenty of dangerous nasties in Australian waters. Those stonefish things don't mess around. Also we've got these things that jump outta trees and ambush American tourists.

Yes, the Greater Northern Spotted Milat.
And dropbears.

I'm Australian and it's true. Most native things are deadly. The ones that aren't are protected, so when out in the bush, you just don't go near the wildlife.

Better still, don't go outside at all. I'm a nerd for a reason...

Take a trip to the southwestern US on of these days. Seriously, if you don't die of dehydration or heat stroke, you could easily be killed by an overly aggressive coyote, a cougar, accidentally step on a snake... Oh, yeah, then there's the plants. While we don't really compare to Australia, the area out here isn't to be taken lightly.
