There never was a sequel to Age of Mythology, but Rise of Legends could definitely be considered its spiritual successor. It isn't as great as AoM in my opinion, but it's by the same guys who made Rise of Nations, surprise surprise.
YUS.

One of my greatest regrets is that there was never a proper sequel to AoM. I've idly considered tracking down whoever it was that bought the rights and pleading with them to make one for a while now. Alas, it is not likely to happen.

Well, it seems the floodgates have closed. I never really expected this big of a response and I want to thank you all again for your help. It seems Total War is mildly popular, and pretty much everything else sounds intriguing as well. I'll be looking out for them when I trawl the stores.

Thank you all.
No, thank you. I really want an Age of Mythology II and Age of Empires IV... the series still have more potential to them. I don't know about Age of Empires Online, I want a full installment and not a F2P.

Just a FYI: Unity of Command is 50% off at Steam. It's the best turn-based strategy to come out this year, and the only really great one I know of. I would heartily recommend it to people who think they can think. Also people who actually can think.
