Nothing to worry about, just more money for the war profiteers and an end to a really annoying stalemate.
Now if Israel and their enemies went to open war, THAT would be an issue.
Yeah and for some reason North Korea launching its stockpile of nuclear and biological weapons as well as scud warheads somehow won't be an issue right?

Well, if they start warring each other, it's probably inevitable that the US will involve itself.
sorry to be "that guy" but korea dosnt have "weapons of mass destruction" that "cant be found" and it dosnt happen to have a massive collection of oil fields...

Sorry i know i will take some stick for that...
You're right. North Korea doesn't have weapons of mass destruction that can't be found. They have the kind that can actually be found instead.

To clarify, I do know about the Korean war but my statement was talking about the Fifty years since. Sorry if I did not make that clear.
You do realize the US had something almost exactly the same with the Soviets for the vast majority of living memory right?

It's not that ridiculous, to be perfectly frank. It would make sense if they'd just get it over with, true, but that's people for ya.

North Korea's pretty much a joke nation. They're the old incompetent James Bond villains of the world, and wouldn't be capable of prolonged war. Besides, almost nobody could really back them, so they're pretty much on their own. Don't get me wrong, they would put up a fight. They just wouldn't put up a very good one.

Ok everyone, as most of us are aware at this point, North Korea has shelled a South Korean Island and caused most of the world to start yelling ta them over it.

But what this makes me think is this: These two countries have officially been in a state of war for about fifty years now.........FIFTY YEARS!!! Seriously, what theh hell is wrong with htese people? I mean if they want peace, declare peace, if you want war, just go ahead and attack each other. But being in a state of war and doing nothing but trading insults for half a century is just ridiculous.

Now I know that I may sound like a horrible person for saying this but here it is. I wish that the two Koreas would jusy have it out already. I mean this "will they, won't they" thats been going on is just getting tired. Lets just get it done and over with.

Hopefully this shelling will lead to some sort of conclusion to this, peace or war, either suits me.

Please tell me what you think and I apologise if anyone though I am being too harsh over this.
You know who else has officially been at war for even longer than the two Koreas? Russia and Japan.

OT: I do kinda feel the same way, to be honest. DPRK really just needs to... go away. They aren't interesting to hear about anymore.

Nothing. Will. Happen. Seriously, North Korea's leader isn't a complete moron, so he wouldn't want full-out war with the USA. We have 11 more carriers than them, and 10 more than China. Who have one. We could starve North Korea out with blockades and pressure on China to close the borders, assuming we didn't bomb them into oblivion first.

I'm getting tired of having to clarify this:

Neither China nor the US have ANY inclination to go to war with one another because neither is willing to disrupt the a multi-trillion dollar international trade. Sure, we may fight a proxy war at most, but so long as China and the US continue to maintain the largest international trade market in the history of humanity, nothing short of one side clearly attacking the other is going to end that.

To start a war would be similar to setting an atom bomb off in the global stock and trade market, nobody wins. The most that will occur from this is that North Korea goes so far that China has no other option but to step back and watch their neighbor turn into a puff of smoke.

And no, Japan will not be backing up South Korea or the US if shit hits the fan. With a small Navy of only 110 small vessels (maybe some 3-4 fleets worth) and 18 submarines, 805 aircraft (less than half of which are combat planes), and some 147,000 troops, it'd be safe to say the most we'd be seeing from them is simply securing the Sea of Japan and the mainland itself from the inevitable attacks North Korea would do as a means of trying to cripple morale.

Now those numbers may sound like a lot, but when you're talking about large scale military operations it's rather small in comparison to the firepower others can bring to bear.
While we're not technically at war at the moment, the fact is that both the US and China are in a sort of economic conflict at the moment. it's more along the lines of watching a pair of Corps go head to head when looking at the US and China.

Thank you for stating this.

China's economy depends on the US buying all of the Clothes, electronics, and plastic toys they cheaply make, so I doubt they would fuck themselves in the ass by pledging their support to the megalomaniac-run North Korea and make every American hate them.

well china wont do shit since if we end up in a war with them then we win since we can wipe out debt and neither country is interested in invading the other since an ocean is still a really good barrier
This is another good point. We're already fighting in a really small third-world country across the ocean, and that's costing us billions a week. China is almost a super-power AND across the ocean, so it wouldn't be feasable without sacrificing the whole US economy to the war effort.

Are you a fucking idiot?
You're trying to be some sarcastic fucking know it all about shit you don't even understand, especially at a half hearted comment like mine. Do you know that their missiles are fucking crippled and barely operational?
No?
Fuck off.
Did you know that we actually have countermeasures in case of such an incident? Hmm?
How far do you REALLY think a third world countries "W.M.D.s" will actually get?
Dear god, if you're that afraid of anyone who claims to have biological weapons, then you must be terrified of every country on earth, ESPECIALLY the one's that spend their time squatting in the mud, because, according to morons like you, they ALL have weapons of mass destruction.
-_-
Not stfu and go read about some shit, k?
Report me on your way out please.
<3
lol calm yourself.
you are thinking of nuclear missiles. Those are the ones that are (possibly) crippled. North Korea has a large stockpile of fully functioning scud warheads. north korea most definitely has a large biological weapons stockpile as well. do your research before you start spazzing on the internet. take your fucking patriotism and go educate yourself. you clearly dont know shit.
