I don't think this one has been done in a while, so I'll give it a shot-
I love Morrowind. It's been a favorite of mine since fifth grade, and whenever I pick it up again I play obsessively. It's just that good. I've never beaten the main story, or either of the expansions, though. Half of the entire time was spent exploring. I even found out a way to make the Scrolls of Icarian Flight useful (Morrowind fans know what I'm talking about), so when I looked the game up on TVtropes, I got this huge onrush of nostalgia.
The GOTY edition is $20 on Steam, and I'm probably gonna pick it up and see if I can get my hands on the level editor.
I remember one Saturday morning putting the game in for the first time; that music, that haunting theme stirred emotions I didn't even know I had. The graphics were the most amazing thing I'd ever seen (up until then, I'd only had a Gamecube and Wii), and even though there was no voice acting (I didn't give a crap), everything just clicked. My first character was a dud. He failed miserably, and I got lost somewhere near Vivec.
I started to learn the game, though, and soon I had mastered it.
Every time I boot up that game (the original Xbox version, so it lags like you wouldn't believe), I remember the joy that that game brings me.
What are your memories of a favorite game?
What do you feel when you blow off the dust?
