Not looking your age?

A little while back, I was out at a pub with my friends to celebrate my birthday (I turned twenty one.) When the waitress asked us what we wanted to drink. I asked for a Keiths and she said that someone that is my age should not be ordering beer. I asked how old she thought I was. She responded with the straightest face ?turning sixteen". I was so pissed. I showed her my ID and said to suck on that and told her she just lost her tip for that night.

I did not let this bother me, but just today when I was walking my dog at about eleven in the morning. A woman had come up to me asking about my dog and then asked why I was not in school. I told her that I was finished school and I was in college. She had apologized and said that I looked seventeen.

I know this should not bother me but it does because I am in my early twenties and people who look at me think I am still in secondary school.
So my question is
Have you ever been mistaken for being older or younger and does it bother you?

I get that all the time. I'm 22 and people still sometimes give me looks when buying cigarette's let alone beer. But i just shrug it off make a joke and laugh about it later.

People think I look 20 despite being 18. It doesn't bother me much. I enjoy seeing to look of surprise when they realize.

Well, back in highschool when I was about 15 everyone thought I was around 18-21. Probably, cause I'm more mature, or I like to believe I am haha, then most. It didn't really bother me.. it was fun to give college guys heartattacks when they invited me to campus events.

OT: I'm 16 going on 17, and I'd say I pretty much look the age.

At times people think I am 18. I guess I can understand why, the fact I can grow facial hair in about a week helps also.

Most people assume I'm several years older than I actually am, at least when it comes to my personality and maturity. But physically, my style has shifted over the year, and based on that alone, a lot of people assume I'm younger. It doesn't bother me because I choose to dress this way, and unfortunately, so do a lot of tweens.

When I was a teen talking to girls on the phone, their parents would get leery because I sounded like I was in my 30s. I'm in my 30s and people regularly tell me that I look like I'm about 19 or 20.

Never bothered me either way. I'd meet the parents and they'd see I was a little beanpole, and as I get older I embrace the idea of being carded when I try buying a bottle at the local liquor store because I know I won't look young forever.

I'm 18, I've looked four years older than I am for as long as I can remember, though it's starting to catch up to me, I guess, and I love it. People take me that much more seriously. Which is good, because I've been told I sound like a 40 year old for years. Half because of wisdom, half because I have serious joint problems.

Even without knowing she was in service, I'd say early twenties, but I'd say closer to 21.

I have a friend who was stopped by the school police and asked why he wasn't in school when he was 22 or 23 =D. Most people think I am younger than my age.

I've been told I look over 20. I don't even get ID'd at game stores any more, and haven't for about a year and a half. I've been told I could walk into a bar and buy whatever I wanted to if I wanted to.
