I don't mind those. At least they add (or at least attempt to add) something fresh and original to an overworked concept... like zombies.

I lurk the R&P forums a lot, and i'm pretty sick of seeing all the "Atheism is good/bad/potatoe pie" threads. I want more politics, less religion, dammit!

I don't mind repeat threads, because of my magical self control powers! I don't have to post in them if I don't want too.

Although this thread slightly annoys me, because it always assumes it's the first of it's kind.

With a twist,
Your avatar,
post your background,
whats your favorite,
am i the only one,
suggestion threads,
people trying to get a video they liked on youtube on the Escapist,
I've just lost hope, they're all so repetative and stupid

On a side note i have nothing against relationship threads

The "What is your religious belief?" thread is just terrible.

It has no meaningful discussion value and inevitably gets hijacked by trolls and/or pointless circular arguments.
Never in my years here have i seen that thread at all.

In addition to a lot of those already mentioned, I can't seem to stop stumbling over the "So I just [bla bla something]" threads, such as "So I just tried frozen yoghurt. What's the big deal?"

So far I have seen pretty much every type of thread on here listed. The community continually posting things is what keeps it going. My opinion is, if you don't like a particular type of thread, don't read it.

Okay so it's not repeated as much some threads. I still think that it is overdone for the Religion and Politics forum. Come on, people, there's so much more you could talk about there.

Not so much a thread per say... but the responses to a thread gets on my tits something rotten, the thread is thus;

[HEADING=2]Poster[/HEADING]
Robots doing some uncanny shit

about 50 replies will be the following

I told you the robot uprising would happen!, I for one bow down to our Mechanical overlords!

shut up.

I hate the threads where all you get is a link someone's copy & pasted, with no actual discussion.
Especially insulting if all the add after a link is "Discuss.". That doesn't drum up discussion, people!

Also, the standard:

Am I the only one...
What's the big deal about Halo/Half-Life 2/Team Fortress 2/Call of Duty?
I have lost faith in humanity because of this one person's insulting activities.
What's your favourite/least favourite X?
Moral Dilemmas.

I must say, though, the best thread I've ever seen here was "What would you do if you found out you were actually two midgets in a trench coat?". Boy, that was a slap on the knee.

I'm really sick of the "Please legalize marijuana. Here's a list of skewed facts somebody else put together that will quickly fall apart if scrutinized too hard".

That, and the "I lost my faith in , so I'm gonna troll about it on a social network".

Especially both seen on a gaming forum.
Well, this isn't a type of thread, though many listed above are annoying, buts its more of a comment made by you and a 1000 people before you.

I'm tired of hearing people say that this is a gaming forum.

First, we all know that. Second, and more importantly, there is an entire off topic section of the forum specifically for not talking about games. If you only want to talk about games, thats fine, but most other people here life talking about everything.

Off Topic even has more threads than gaming does.

Every thread. There is no originality that will not result in moderator wrath and/or end up ignored by the users for lack of discussion value.
Well said. In addition to that, whouldn't the question here be, "What are your prefered types of threads?"

Don't get me started.
I like the Ask a . . . . I always learn something new and random from them. They are pretty self-indulgent though. Damn you and your differing opinion. haha.

Threads that are posted over and over, each with a separate excuse, such as [insert overdone thread here]With a Twist!!!

EDIT:Although I do post in those quite often. Not all are bad, and they can be quite entertaining.

The "I don't get why everyone likes XXXXXX" threads are starting to annoy me now.

On a side note, how long do we think it'll be before someone decides that they're going to be so unique and make a "What's the big deal with MineCraft?" thread?

Any thread based on memes.
They aren't funny the 1000th time you've seen them; most of them weren't funny the first time either.

Most of the perennial threads revolve around controversy, or generating hits for badges.
Then there's the Fire Und Forget threads, where one person finds some sort of link (controversial), and attempts to build a non-argument around his/her opinion before leaving the thread to rot; only posting to bump it back up for more discussion.
