I know I'm not the only one who was disappointed with GTA4 but my main disappointment was with the rewards. There were plenty of side missions and activities but you didn't get crap for most of them (unless you count achievement trophies)and the few rewards are pretty lame.
At least when San Andreas made you do a favor for James Woods it would give you a military jet or something.
So I was reading this little article and it says that you'll get in game rewards for exploring the water around San Andreas.

Looks fucking amazing. Can not wait. Switching between three different characters seamlessly during combat sounds awesome. Also it is supposed to be bigger than GTA San andreas, GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption combined, I can't even comprehend that size.

After playing Red Dead Redemption, I don;t think I would have minded all that much if 5 was less about crazy shit, exploration and older GTA protocols.

I'm ready to experience some great writing, drama, interesting diverse characters that play at my emotions and just the usual fantastic Rockstar storytelling.

If the driving is still as stiff and awkward GTA4, I'm not really all that interested.
I loved driving around in GTA3 and Vice City, just doing random shit, finding shortcuts and the like.

The cars handled like crap in GTA4, for the most part and I hated the new modern camera.
You just get used to using the old camera control system, it gets stuck in your head. :\

But you have to already know what is going to happen: one of the characters (probably one or maybe two protagonists this time) will bight it at some climactic moment...like every R* game this gen.
I can appreciate good drama, but R* doesn't do that very well. Whenever they try to play at my emotions I always end up rolling my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they tried doing drama but I feel like they've just been rolling out the same "drama gimmicks" over and over this gen.
The good thing is that it seems they're trying to entertain both of us with the cast of protagonists. My guess is that players more like me will opt for Trevor to survive the end and players like you will probably opt for Franklin.

the xbox based browser is unstable, so i wont try quoting people, but i just want to address some things that were said here.

1. gta 4 was disappointing in a lot of ways, but i didnt feel like the driving felt too tight, in fact its quite the opposite, every turn was a Tokyo Drift action scene, with me fishtailing all over the place. it might have been more realistic than previously, but i think the focus on serious tones and realism was misstep.

2. to the person who said R* doesnt do drama well, how dare you sir and/or ma'am! red dead redemption. play it. love it. FEEL IT. and while gta 4's niko was kinda lame, the two expansion characters and stories were pretty good.

That's wrong, the PC version has always come out 3-7 months after the console releases. They've done it with every GTA to date.

A heist movie in game form? This seems genuinely exciting. IV had a few good things going for it, but the relentlessly bleak tone and clunky shooting ruined it for me. V seems like it will be much more fun.

You know what I'm excited for? We get to plan our own heists.

Did you get that? I'll say it again.

PLAN YOUR OWN HEISTS!

Recruit your guys with the money you have and plan how the heist is gonna play out. Replay value will be through the fuckin' roof!

Problem is, they typically announce a PC version before hand to release. This time they have stated there will be no pc port from the get go.

Edit: it appears I am wrong, so please. STOP QUOTING ME.

You have a source for that? Because if that's true, that pretty much ends what interest I have in GTA5 entirely.

My thoughts exactly.
But aside from the dissapointing lack of a PC port, the game itself does look like a step in the right direction.

Be very careful when they say 'bigger'

When devs say bigger than X they can mean anything from it's flat surface area to the file size, like GTA 4 has the biggest map ever in GTA by file size, number of enterable buildings and a whole bunch of other measures.

But of course everyone knows it's smaller than San Andreas was. Bigger than all three combined could just mean they're using some massive textures...

I just want the ability to go to any place from the start. In GTA3 you could do it, in Vice City you could do it, but from San Andreas onwards they started giving you an automatic 4 star wanted rating.

I think "fantastic" is something of a stretch given they've yet to learn how to pace their stories in their sandbox games. (Max Payne 3 was pretty spot on in that regard, but then it's 8 hours long or so.)

John Marston's characterisation is also handed far too many compliments despite being frequently contradictory. "I really am very respectful towards woman, just so long as it's not some nameless Mexicans getting raped."

Their cutscenes are perilously close to being self-indulgent as well. Would be nice if they were less focused on that and more intent on throwing the story out into the impressive environments they create - they segregate those aspects far too much.

They didn't for IV. Chances of it not coming out on PC are remote. RDR didn't but then it was a different dev studio to GTA's and it's rumoured that there was something with the way it was built on the engine that made it a pain in the arse to port.

That's not to say that they aren't being obnoxious pricks about it, as per usual.
