I just want the ability to go to any place from the start. In GTA3 you could do it, in Vice City you could do it, but from San Andreas onwards they started giving you an automatic 4 star wanted rating.
You couldn't go anywhere you wanted from the start in either GTA 3 or Vice City. They both also have the automatic 4 star wanted rating when you go to the islands you aren't supposed to.

They didn't for IV. Chances of it not coming out on PC are remote. RDR didn't but then it was a different dev studio to GTA's and it's rumoured that there was something with the way it was built on the engine that made it a pain in the arse to port.

That's not to say that they aren't being obnoxious pricks about it, as per usual.
Eh. Figures. Back to the Status Quo, where there hasn't been a good GTA game for me since San Andreas.

I don't know if a patch has made it so, but the early versions let you go anywhere provided you could get there. Here's one video showing a method of getting to the 2nd island early in Vice City.

Heists man, heists. When I heard this was going to be a primary part of the game, I was sold. I just keep running Heat and the intro to The Dark Knight through my head... how friggin cool is that.

I hear that the shooting will be reminiscent to Max Payne 3's shooting mechanics. Also, each character is supposed to get their own special ability. Michael has slow-mo shooting powers, Franklin has slow-mo driving, and Trevor has beserker mode.

Thats more like an exploit rather than the game letting you. I remember GTA3 having bombed bridges and vice city having hurricane warnings. Never understood why they locked areas out for a while.

OT: Its looking cool but i'm not getting overly hyped like most people. GTA4 was great on technical level but had some MAJOR gameplay issues.

I want:

-Better driving
- Combat thats not awkward, having your guy tripping over his own animations. (red dead had this too)
- Walking thats not awkward - clumsy and slow and had to hold a button just to jog.
- greater mission variety not just (go here, kill this). A decent story can't make up for boring missions. Ballad of gay tony managed to spice things up a bit, so there is hope.

I am liking the colour though, and heists. Lets hope they get the basics right though :p

I hope so, max payne 3 still has some of the best shooting i have played with.

Wait, they aren't going to release it on PC? Is there any reason why? Well, looks like I won't be playing it then. Too bad.

I felt dissapointed by GTA IV mainly because their wasnt much to do outside of missions. GTA was always about sillyness with a grounding in reality. The worlds hold a mirror to society and its people with a very close attention to detail and subtle nuances. GTA IV had all that in oodles except tge sillyness it was missing jetpacks and tanks and fighterjets like previous GTAs.

This is where GTA V has learned from this. Just look at trevor and you know this is going back to GTA of old. Hes reminisent of the one armed vietnam vet from vice city that sold you crazy weapons like flamethrowers and miniguns.

What i also like about this game is ive always wanted an A-team game where you can flick between the characters and create plans like hannibal. this is essentially that game where you organise your own hiest from the ground up and the characters bear a resemblance to the a-team characters eg trevor = murdoch, micheal = hannibal and franklin = BA. I seriously love how you have full control over planning the missions you choose how you are going to enter tge heist and you organise the getaway and since you can switch characters it opens up a lot of options for planning and execution. I just hope it keeps the fun and picks up a few lessons from RDR rather than GTA IV

Good news [http://youtu.be/YRjDNYE66jk?t=18m18s]

Really looking forward to this given the things I have heard over the past few days. It sounds like they have improved the driving and character switching system, with each of the other characters living their everyday lives while you're not controlling them, sounds awesome. Planning the heist missions sounds pretty damn cool as well.

Thank you sir, you have made my day. What with this news and the scuba diving, this looks like one of the few games I'm willing to buy new.

2. to the person who said R* doesnt do drama well, how dare you sir and/or ma'am! red dead redemption. play it. love it. FEEL IT. and while gta 4's niko was kinda lame, the two expansion characters and stories were pretty good.
I like RDR, it was a really fun game that was also a great value. I just think the whole drama gimmicks were tiresome; especially when the same kind of things keep happening in their games. It just seems like they try too hard (or perhaps not enough) in trying to get the player all emotional.

Honestly, just finding out Master Sounds is in this one would sell it...for me.
And why wouldn't swimming be fun, it's worked in every other game it's been used. Oh I remember the fun of chucking my TMNT (NES) cartridge at a wall after not appreciating the irony of turtles who can't swim worth a shit.

As for a PC version, I'm not worried that we wont see one (I'm sure it's being worked on), I'm worried about the quality.

Every now and then a new GTA game is released, and every single time it turns into my all time favourite game. I am frothing at the mouth over this, I can't stand the wait!

Rockstar is probably the best developer this generation.

No other studio pushes the boundaries more than Rockstar. All of their main games are unquestionably "Day 1" buys. It's a long, long road till September...
