People like that actually exist?
I thinks it must be pretty sad to NEED a girlfriend to mature, I thought those men were a creation of those "men are vile, disgusting and evil/double standard female empowerment"-teen romantic "comedies" that seem to be all the rage these days.
I'm dissapointed to hear that this is not the case, but I believe that men/women should be able to mature without the help of a partner (I know I did and I still have 15 years of school ahead of me).

hahahahahaha, people need them to mature in the sense of knowing what they are looking for in a partner. Obviously maturing in other ways happens through life experiences outside of relationships. evidently, however, you're one of these greater-then-thou "humans", who infact doesn't need to be in contact with anything to mature and become such a likable "person".
I do agree though, it is dissapointing to hear that not everyone is able to go onto such long-term education and be an absolute genious, enabling them to be mature enough to just insult other peoples opinions, such as yourself. I wish you all the best with your education and hope that you go on to do many things. I will be further dissapointed if you don't discover something phenomenal and life-changing/life-saving.

It may be that i'm one of these "sad" people you felt so inclined to describe; but i don't have a clue what you mean the teen-romantic-comedies you are talking about... i'm pretty sure any show where no-one is allowed to be nice would be refused to be broadcasted at the impressionable minds of a teenager.

Maybe we got off on the wrong foot here, but I was not insulting you.
I really can't stand the fact that people keep saying that I have a "holier-than-thou"-attitude.
Do you not have a slight "holier-than-thou"-attitude?
When you see a guy harassing a girl just to look cool to his friends, do you not think that he's pathetic?
Do you not feel "better" than him?
What do you want me to do? Go wear my underpants over my normal pants, act all macho and go "pick-up" some girls?
Excuse me, but fuck that.
Yes, I do feel better than those people.
I despise those people.
By social standards, I'm not a bad person. I don't treat women as a commodity, but as human beings.
I'm in my fifth year of high school (there are 6), after which I will study medicin at a university, which will take me about 14 years.
That's the reason why I still have so many years left.
I'm not going to discover something "life-saving", but I will be able to save a lot of lives as a neuro-surgeon.
Frankly, I don't care if people insult me.
I wouldn't hold it against them if I ever had to perform surgery on them.

you're right, we did get off on the wrong foot.
I've been taught about pride (as a church-goer, sorry if i sound preachy but i am just... well, reciting what has been preached to me :p), and its amazing how many things can be considered prideful. Yes, that guy is pathetic, he has a fault. I don't have that fault, however, i'm not better than him. There will be an area inwhich he far excels me, we are humans and at the end of the day, we're all supposedly equal.
despise the act, not the person. Or well, the way i was told it was to Love the sinner but hate the sin. Obviously, thats hard when they look like total twats, but no doubt i've acted like a total twat at one point or another. An example of me being a twat is probably my last post >.>

We're not asking you to go grab a girl, not at all. If you don't feel like you need one, then thats because you don't xD. I'm saying just don't put someone down because they were brave enough to ask someone. It probably took them a lot of courage, and to metaphorically pee on that is really hurtful.
No, really, i never thought you were a bad person, But i will admit that i thought you needed taking down a notch. Then again, who am i to judge that, i think i just over-estimated your self-confidence. Glad to hear you're able to see them as Human beings too, i wish more guys would -_-
I think i've just about figured out how American school system works with the British School system... i think i'd be in my 6th Year of highschool when this school year starts. Then after that, i too am on to study medicine. 7 years at University, 2 proving myself in the field, then 4-8 years finding something to specialise when in a Hospital... so yeah, at least 13 years. I'm personally thinking of working in a Haemotologist clinic, as when i did my pre-uni medical shadowing, i really enjoyed the environment in that field.

Sorry for being so sarcastic earlier >.> i really do hope you're able to go on and help many many people. To be honest, you're quite a level-headed person, with enough self-confidence to get through Medicine and you don't seem to hold grudges. I'm lacking in the self-confidence area, which is maybe why i'm so inclined to congratulate people when they perform some basic social skills.

I'm glad we were able to work this out like civil beings, but there are a few things I want to clear up.
The questions that I asked the OP were not rhetorical.
I honestly wanted to know how he thought about that and I wasn't being sarcastic at all.
In other words, it was never my intention to insult the OP.

I find your stance on equality, especially because you're Christian, quite odd.
I don't mean to insult your beliefs, but I think this would be interesting.
As a Christian (you're a church-goer), it is required to believe in the divinity and resurrection of Jezus Christ of Nazareth, right?
I deduct from that, that Jezus Christ, the son of God, has certain abilities that normal humans don't, but he doesn't seem to be less than humans in other ways.
In the Bible, which Christians believe is the word of God, Jezus is depicted as a perfect human being that is killed out of jealousy.
This would mean that he is better than "normal" humans and thus not everyone is created equally.
Your thoughts on that?

Good for you!
Although it wasn't the most complicated problem, you did what many people would find very hard and may not have done!
So I hope you last long as possible and have a joyful relationship.

This is another relationship thread. So there is this girl I met at the start of summer who is friends with one of my buddies. They both go to a different school. She's a year older than me (She's first year University and I'm going into grade 12 (senior year high school)). I have started to like her recently but I was worried about ruining our friendship. Now this is where everyone asks "Wat I do now?". I on the other hand, just put on my man pants and asked her out tonight. She said yes. I am quite happy with the descision. My point is, to all these people with relationship threads, just go for it. Also, I wouldn't mind if you guys felt like giving me some congrats.
You have my congrats.

IUnstead of wasting our time with "Wot I do Nao?" You jsut skipped straight to the ending. :D

Its not that I do not mind giving advice to those kinds of threads, its jsut that those threads never help, anyone making a thread like that never seem to want any help, and always end up exactly where they were :p

So yeah, have fun, hope it all works out *Waves*

Yeah, I agree with you tho =3. The relationships I've had in my younger years have thought me a lot (well, guess 19 is still young), primarily that teen-age guys only want one thing truly; show their friends that they CAN get girlfriends.
No way, you forgot the other majorly important reason! To hide their gay tendencies from their friends!

Haha, okay, i get you... sometimes sarcasm can be hard to distinguish on the internet.

yes, i am christian (no matter what the other sects say :p) and i don't mind you being interested. Though i do believe you answered your own question. Jesus Christ was the son of God. Mary was a virgin, she was the Mother, God was the father. So although Jesus was in a human-like form, he was much more God-like than any of us, Which is why he resides a one of the 3 Godhead, who i believe to be 3 seperate entities (God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit). Thats one of the ways we differ from other christian sects, who believe that the Godhead is 1 entinty, but i believe its more that they move as one as they all share the same purpose.

I also believe in something called "the veil". When every human comes to earth, they enter through the veil, which prevents them from recollecting their life before coming to earth, which is why we have to use faith in order to return to God. However, the veil doesn't work on Omniscient beings, such as God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. So Jesus was able to be perfect, because he had a knowledge of life before our time on Earth and knew that his purpose was to suffer and die for all our sins as the Son of God.

In the spoiler, i'm just going on a bit, clarifying a few things that may be an issue, so read those if you're still interested. also, if you don't think i've answered your question, do post back and explain where i've not explained/where you're confused
I said that we had a life before coming to earth. I'd like to clarify that i believe that we were created as spirit children by God. So we are all sons and daughters of God, however, that is only in spirit. What seperates Christ from us is that he is God's only Begotten Son, which is why he's so special.
The purpose of coming to earth is to gain a physical body, because God already had a physical body, and being a father, he wants us to experience this, which is why he created the earth for us to live on as physical beings. We believe God has a physical body, because in genesis (first part of the bible) it says "And God created man in his likeness, in his image"

To conclude, God created all men equally, but he had to make Christ special, in order for him to accomplish the ordeal of dying for our sins.

EDIT: sorry for going very off-topic, but i did want to answer his question, as it was a good one.

I'm all for the 'Just go for it' mentality. The only problem with that line of thinking is that for every situation like yours, there are at least two 'I like you, but... not like that' responses. Congratulations on succeeding where I have failed repeatedly.

Grats on making a relationship thread where there's something to say in comments other than "just ask her". Anyway, I'm happy she said yes to you. Maybe now all the people that make threads complaining that they never asked anyone out will know it's actually not physically impossible to do.
