Blaming videos games is just as logical as blaming guns.

How about we blame the PERSON?
I'm all for that.
Add a third vote to that.

People have been killing people for as long as people have been around. It didn't just start with guns or video games.

By the same argument, nukes don't kill people, but we're not handing those out.

The comparison of media and guns to the incident is ludicrous. Violent media can sway one's opinions and desires, but it cannot strip them of their will and it also doesn't grant people the power to mow down groups of people in seconds.

Yes, but your average citizen can defend himself/herself with a gun.

How are they going do that with a nuke?

There is a huge difference between a normal handgun and a nuclear weapon.

And why is it that comparison always comes up when the gun control debate pops up?

Well when i say media, i dont mean games and movies. I meant the news media and their focus on every aspect of the shooters life for everyone to see, turning these people into legends overnight and encouraging copycats.

Hey, The NRA! Video games don't kill people, people do!

How do your own words taste, you fucking hypocrites.

Not all of the shooters played video games.

All of the shooters however were on SSRI's. Drugs known specifically to stop you from "feeling". But lets never talk about any of that, a drugged out nation is a quiet nation. I'm just saying.

This is pathetic.
Instead of blaming the actual person responsible and the mental health issues that led to it, they instead put blame toward something completely unrelated on the "new media is evil" button as a means to cover their own hides.

I'll keep saying it - people have been shooting each other since the invention of the gun, not of Pong.
Better quote: People have been killing since before they were people.

Really?

That is a really serious accusation to make, and a really important deal if it is true! could you please site your source for this? Cause I'd be mighty interested if that is the case.

Well I'm not an expert on the subject, but it's really no secret. It has been the big flatulent elephant in the room for quite some time now.

The Columbine shooters were on SSRIs, James Holmes was on SSRIs and wasn't much of a gamer, he reportedly played Guitar Hero. Lanza was on an SSRI that was very controversial and pulled from many parts of the world, but don't quote me on that.

Here is a link to someone who knows better. Looks as if he's compiled all the known cases where the shooters are taking SSRI's and claims 67 with Lanza. I have no idea what that site is, but that post is interesting.

Not exactly surprised, in fact I expected them to say something like this. Games have been the medias punching bag for years, mostly because the media is very threatened by the fact that games are taking eyes off their networks.

The NRA obviously have their own agenda too. "Focus on the games! So long as people aren't blaming the GUNS for a mass shooting event then everything is okay."

Eh whatever, this happens ever time. They don't want to blamed so of course they are going to try and pass it on and video games make an easy target.
If not games it's violent TV and I'd wager if neither TV or video games were around it would be tabletop games and books that would be catching the blame.
