Dont think so. Israel arn't dim enough to drop a nuke on a country that is practically on their doorstep. Surgical strikes however are a very different matter.

No. MAD.

Mutually
Assured
Destruction.

A nuclear war would blast us backwards a good half century, if we survived at all. It's not going to happen. Maybe, maybe, there will be some sort of nuclear strike, but a full blown nuclear war? Never gonna happen.

I wonder if a nuclear exchange would be enough to get those Islamic extremists to knock it off. They might be prepared for death, but this is something significantly worse.

No.

Why nuke a place, destroying millions and millions in resources while giving your own country the black eye of of mass genocide and at the same time now putting your enemy into a "Why the fuck not" situation to nuke you back since they are already dead, when you can land ground troops that can kill enemies efficiently enough and still secure resources and possibly the civilians unhappy under the current governmental rule.

Nukes only exist for one reason. To make sure no one uses them. I know that sounds stupid but its pretty much a, "If you nuke me i will nuke you" situation. If only one country has nukes then that person can threaten anyone. When dealing with a country that has nukes, or has an ally that has nukes, the threat of a nuke is responded with, "And I'll nuke you back"

As much as extremists say they are willing to die for this or that you rarely see the leaders running into the Costco with bombs strapped to themselves.

well I should seek shelter in the nearest vault
on a serious note this is just something that pops up from time to time there should be no nuclear war isn't this the whole reason why we had a summit on decreasing nuclear arms so something like a nuclear war would be adverted

As an adolescent of the 1980s, I was scared crapless at the thought of nuclear war. Back then, all that was needed was a damn good excuse to hit that button...which, thankfully, didn't happen. Russia's still on the 'crazy' list with Putin pulling Medvedevedevedevedev's strings (never know when to stop writing that name)...but he's not Kim Jung-Il 'crazy' or Mahmoud Achma-didn't-ever-see-WarGames-izhad 'crazy'...so a full-scale war...not likely.

Limited? Well, that may be a frightening possibility. Iran or North Korea may decide a 2-megaton explosion might be a grand idea on Israel/South Korea. If THAT happens, we're gonna have to go all "Modern Warfare" on their asses. Remember: Iran and Iraq are NOT friends...haven't been in decades. And, with Iraq now vaguely under U.S. control, this would be an interesting way for U.S., Iraqi and insurrgency soldiers to unite against a common foe. As for the PRK, even CHINA doesn't want them to have nukes...so what do you think'll happen if they set OFF one...ANYwhere?! The 300,000 troops China sent to help North Korea during the 1950s war would be NOTHING compared to the march from the north they'd get if they nuked someplace.

No need for Vaults or PIP-boys in this case. Seems most likely that Mother Nature is gonna destroy mankind before we do it to ourselves.

Ninja'd XD

OT: It will never happen. The bombs USA dropped scared the crap out of the world to much. During the cold war it got so close that it scared the Russians so much that they didn't do it. Scaring Russia is something that -never- happens.

the concept of no win situation should deal with it, during the cold war the risk of a total nuclear war was much more probable that this, yet it didn't happen.
But politicians weren't as stupid back then. Nowdays we have to deal with the likes of a congress who think they know everything about this country.

God, I hope not. I'm paranoid enough as it is, this is not something I need right now!
