Please help me and my computer illiterate ways. Having had problems with the virus Trojan.peacomm on Thursday it has taken till Monday to repair the damage.

Or so I thought, having re downloaded software from Nvidea for my GeForce 7800 card I tried to play World of Warcraft only to find that half the words on screen where either missing or distorted and all of my Characters appeared to be distorted.

Having gone through all the software I still could not find the problem and so I went on the Nvidea website to get a help line number (having had trouble installing Norton again my expectations of helpfulness where high) only to find about 20 different numbers for Nvidea's "partners" and almost no way of telling where or to whom I should turn.

I would like to point out that if your computer gives you a warning message about Trojan.Peacomm that disconnects you from the Internet DO NOT TRY TO RESTART unless you have spoken to your antivirus software provider or have backed up absolutely everything on your computer the day before.

Get it, use it. Download it at a friends house if you have too.

Then get you drivers for NVidia products Here. :

Your WoW installation may be corrupted. Have you had trouble with other games?
Yes, this is a good idea as well. Remove and reinstall the game too.

Also try turning off all of your WoW add-ons. If your text is normal then start turning on each add-on one at a time.

I don't know if you mean rendered text, or post-rendered text. A lot of add-ons work post-render and have opportunity to screw things up (usually after WoW updates).

Thank you both for your advice unfortunately Axia that website is where I got my Nvidea software from the card was second hand and so did not have the programming disk with it.

Having tried other games they will not even start due to the lack of the d3dx9_30.dll application so now I will begin searching for that now.

Remove all of your video drivers before you install the new driver from the link I posted above.

Your welcome. Personally, I NEVER get drivers from a third party. Some do, I do not.
