Obama does pot?

America is fascinating sometimes.

George Bush, Cheney, and the rest of that gang presided over:-

1. The only terrorist attack on US soil ever, and also the biggest terrorist attack ever in the world.

2. The non-response to hurricane Katrina, resulting in an entire city still dealing with the problem on its own for days after the hurricane had passed.

3. An illegal war, costing millions of civilian lives, thousands of US troops lives, tens of thousands of troop injuries, and untold billions in expenditure.

4. An illegal prison camp (Guantanamo) that shamed the USA and made it look like it certain members of the US government were 'getting off' on torture.

5. The worst economic crisis in the history of the world, seeing business that had survived world war 2 and the great depression collapse and file for bankrupcy.

However, all this is as nothing. Clinton got a blow-job, and Obama smoked pot! How horrendous those democrats are!

Thats media-culture for you. maybe the bush administration was just lucky enough to have Paris hilton step out of taxi's without underwear the same days, so their stories didn't make it to the front page.

he did back in college - says so in "dreams of my father" or whatever that book was called. and fair dues to the guy.

The real question is why should we care? If it happened back then, it doesn't matter. How was he supposed to know he was going to be a President. If they're saying he did recently, it's probably just a stupid political rumor.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did it when he was younger or something, but I'd be quite if I found he still did.

Besides, as long as he's not high and has a massive 'launch all nukes' button right in front of him at the time, does it really matter? He probably likes to drink, which is the same basic effect (weed has a few more of course).

During the election this issue was raised and Obama admitted to using cannabis in the past. It was one of the many things I respect the guy for. He didn't try and push it away with the whole 'I didn't inhale' bullshit or out right deny something that as many as maybe a third, if not more, of the population has also done. And lets face it, politicians more then not come from backgrounds where contact with recreational drugs tends to be fairly high... being able to afford to go to collages and high price universities.

As for him still using?

Doubtful but then who the hell would stop him, he is the fricken president and if anyone can get away with it he can. Oh and the last few federal medical cannabis users whom can, legally, smoke it anywhere they damn well please.

He admitted to doing it once, but not anymore. as I recall, the conversation went something like this:

Obama: "Yes, I have smoked pot before."

Interviewer: "Did you inhale?"

Obama: "That was the point."

I remember that interview. It was the honesty of that response that convinced me that he would be the next President.

There will be a swarm of holier-than-thou posters who will pipe up about how they don't, of course, but theres an awful lot of either current or ex users out in the world...

IIRC he did cocain some in college. Other than that no, I could be mixing it up with pot but I don't think so.

I hate pot, I've seen what it can do to people, turning them into paranoid manic depressives as happened to my dad. although he was better on pot because now he has a bad temper.
