Don't get us started on PeTA.
They're making a fuss about a fly for publicity.

Previous publicity stunts include:

  • Wanting fish renamed "Sea-Kittens"
Asking the Pet Shop Boys to rename themselves The Rescue Shelter Boys
And some others I can't remeber

Don't forget their request that Ben and Jerry's start making all of their ice cream with human breast milk.

I'm going to guess this was PETA's Response:
"Y'know, Hitler killed a fly!"

Ugh...

The sad thing is that I know people who like PETA. It's hard to believe that there exist people that PETA hasn't alienated yet.

Look at the facts here people! EVERY evil dictator has killed a fly some time in their life and therefore by simple logic he is an evil dictator that will kill us all!!!

What bugs me, is how they seem to be fine about animals that kill animals, surely we're just omnivore mammals?

Sure, campaign against cruelty, unnecessary suffering, unneeded pets at xmas, etc, but killing dangerous animals and killing animals for food is fine.

Maybe PETA supporters should offer themselves up as replacement meat to save a cow.

However that wouldn't work as the meat from a PETA supporter would no doubt be condemned due to the obvious rampaging brain disease evident in the body.

What's next? Death penalty for killing flies? I'd be charged as a serial killer, or whatever Hitler would be charged with if he hadn't committed suicide... Lucky for me I don't live in US.
Also: What's PETA? Police of Evil and Troublesome Ants? (Yes, I'm to lazy to check Google or Wikipedia on this.)

a couple of years back PETA had this campaign comparing pigs being transported to auschwitz prisoners, they lost all of my respect back then.

I hadn't heard the pet shop boys one before, absolutely made my day. I deodrant sprayed a fly out of the air in my bathroom just this afternoon. Take that PETA, I feel no remorse.

The problem is, Obama is going a great job and people just want to complain about him. I bet the PETA people who started this were also republicans as they are the vanguard of overreacting to what Obama is doing.

What is your source for saying PETA is on him for this? As far as I can see this is their official reaction [http://blog.peta.org/archives/2009/06/obama_and_the_f.php]:
Believe it or not, we've actually been contacted by multiple media outlets wanting to know PETA's official response to the executive insect execution.

In a nutshell, our position is this: He isn't the Buddha, he's a human being, and human beings have a long way to go before they think before they act.
So really they're not making a big deal out of this.

I'm sure flies, like most living things, have their place in the food chain, and maybe removing them from it could cause cataclysmic problems.

However, a lot of insects outnumber us by many thousands to one, and giving one a slap is not the same as murder, and PETA need to get over it.

How many PETA supporters live life like those monks who sweep the ground in front of them so as not to step on an insect because they feel all life is sacred? I think they're a little nuts too, but I can at least respect their beliefs, they're not putting insect lives above humans.

Oh and PETA just lost a whole bunch of their US support with that line, for mentioning Buddha...

You mean PETA doesn't love the baby Jesus? Well, I'm gonna go support the guys that quirt shampoo in kittens eyes then, they love Jesus.

(Just toying with you, American Escapists, I do feel as a whole America's quite a heavily Christian country tho!)

Did anyone else roar in laughter after reading the title "Obama Criticized for Killing Fly?" What else are we going to criticize him for, breathing.

Whales, Penguins, Elephants, Dogs and Cats. These are just a few of the animals that I can understand PETA caring for...but a fly??? Really?

Still, gotta love them PETA ads :)

To all PETA members.
Your body's natural defenses kill hundreds/thousands/millions of "Living" bacteria every day.. This is evil and must stop. All bacteria has the right to live and breed inside you.
Please kill yourselves before the slaughter is aloud to continue further.

For every fly they save, I will kill 100.

Flies are incredibly thick, annoying and pointless creatures.

And I've said this before but... PeTA should die.

This is why the human race is going down the toilet as quickly as it is now.
