This guy has just moved up on my list of favorite presidents. Welcome to the top ten Obama. Hey does anyone know if portal 2's multiplayer is online. I wonder what it would be like to wind up playing with Obama.

More like Brobama.

But it's good to see someone in a position of governmental authority who doesn't automatically equate videogames to bleeps and bloops which turn children into sex offenders.

Old, but I hadn't heard it.
What do you guys think? Does the Presidential Seal of Approval make Portal the best game ever?
Just because I can't read sarcasm on the internet.. you know this is photo shopped right?

The sign of a man who has not spent all that much time on the internet.

Either that or he joined up a year or two after the initial shock if it.
Wait... What?
I'm a fairly jaded individual, easily worn on the massive butchering of popular titles. The fandom of Portal was similar to that of the original Halo, enough to the point I am utterly sick of it years after it faded.

And it's not like I'm the only one that still cringes when people make a "The cake is a lie" joke.
I agree with you on the second paragraph. Cake jokes wear thin.

But I don't mind if a game gets massive fandom, especially if it's a good original title. It shouldn't change your playing experience of the game. On a similar note, I know a lot of people who get bored with certain popular songs that they liked but then got 'overplayed' on the radio and in clubs. I just tell them to listen to a different station or go to a different club a bit more often. I'm sure you could work out where I'm going with this one.

Those two paragraphs contradict each other, but I'm sure you get what I mean...

I don't understand. Why didn't anyone make a big deal when I said I liked Portal?

This is not surprising. Everybody loves Portal.

Except maybe Republicans.

Its great that he likes something I like, but:

1) I seem to remember him slamming video games as causing poor grades and poor health.

2) The President of the USA should not have enough free time on his hands to be playing video games.

Well, I dont wanna burst anybody's bubble and I personally think that Obama liking Portal is Totally Freaking Awesome, but that looks photoshopy... the Tv's edges are too perfectly squared and the image is very clear for a picture taken to a TV... I dunno it just dosen't fit in my picture of a picture of a LCD TV featuring Portal (or anything).

No, there's no way that's fake. That photo is totally real. I mean is it so hard for you cynics to believe that Obama would know about an esoteric FPS puzzle game made by a developer whose mainstream awareness begins and ends with males between the ages of 14-34?

I can understand how people could be fooled into thinking we actually landed on the moon. But people not believing Obama has played and is eagerly awaiting the next Portal? Not so much.

Get your facts straight.

Fascinating, that a President who has admitted to get into gaming a few times to say that he likes a game that has been almost universally praised as being really good...

In fairness, I like that our president has a fun side that doesn't involve him taking three weeks off while the world goes "WTF, where are you??"

SWEET!
Does he have a XBox? He probably has a 360, common, he's, well, not a guy for a Wii, nor a person for a PS3...
Great... you just putted a situation in my head. I'm imagining Obama playing Halo 3 and he's losing a match.

There's that guy yelling "We can't win against those *******" and Obama replies with "Yes we can!"
