There's a thread somewhere around here about animals that are generally not considered cute, so I decided to rip off that idea see what kind of obscure, rare, and just plain weird animals y'all know about.

We share this world with em', and we sure do love to see some anatomically different animals to learn about and exploit!

And yes, it has to be based in our reality.

I vote for the Liger:

And no, I don't just like it because of Napolean Dynamite.

I'm going with the giant Grenadier because I like the name. I also found a strange animal blog which has many more of these strange mutant animals. that can be found here [http://www.strangeanimals.info/].

Yeah it is cool but the name caught my eye, "A giant grenadier what the hell is that?" I went in expecting an animal or fish that looks like a grenade sadly it doesn't but it would have been awesome if it did.

Thank you for introducing me to the subject of my nightmares for the next 2 weeks!
Anyway, the Mimic Octopus is pretty cool. It can imitate the movement patterns and shapes of other animals to avoid suspicion.

By the way, how in God's name was I supposed to type this?

barrel-eyed fish.

I mean, look at it. Its eyes are inside its transparent head, looking up. Its nostrils are where its eyes should be as well.
