Strangers wrath was a fantastic game! Munch's Oddysee was the let down in my opinion.

It's been long confirmed that the new game was a remake, I think it was of Strangler's Wrath, and it's a PSN exclusive due to the game being 0.1Gb over the XBLA size limit.

I'd assume its out now since its also on Steam.

To anyone who played the brilliant Abe's oddsey on PS1 and the awsome sequal Abe's exodus,the studios who made it called oddworld studios went out of business after the awfull stranger's wrath game.Well they are back in business and are making a new title which I have heard rumours is a remake of Abe's oddsey! So who else is phyked about this?

And if anyone has'nt heard of them, feel free to ask about them, but if you have a active playstation 1 and can get hold of a copy. I advise you do!

Okay first Stranger's Wrath was NOT an awful game,
second they were called Oddworld Inhabitants
Third if there is any truth to this at all, this jusy about sums up my feelings.

They should just make the whole quintology 2D, they've made it pretty clear that they know how to do it.

The only reason Munch's Oddyseey was so mediochre was because they changed all of the mechanics from 2D to 3D because Microsoft decided that it was more important to show off its console than to show that the games exclusive to Xbox were superior to PS2. Which is why PS2 won the console wars. Xbox was a better system, but PS2 had better games. And why would you buy a system that had inferior games?

But yeah, Abe 1 and 2 were outstanding games. BTW, check out Splatterhouse if you want an example of 2D done wrong.

Strangers Wrath was a unique, well controlling, fascinatingly fun and hilariously AWESOME game... in fact it is probably one of the best games I have ever played.

You, sir, have annoyed me.

but that's good, hopefully they make more unique things, you know their other game that was supposed to come out was going to be a brawler/shooter, and it was probably going to be the most amazing thing ever.

Care to elaborate on just how Splatterhouse does 2D wrong.

Sure, despite new technology, SH adds nothing to the standard 2d side-scrolling that the original SH did. What makes it worse is that you're taking the player out of a 3D environment to do it. The only explanation for this would be to give a tongue-bath to retro fans. Even the music has a retro feel to it. I have no problem with retooling old franchises, but when you start singing 'Meet the new boss, its the same as the old boss' during a sequence, you're probably doing it wrong.

You may be the only person on Earth who doesn't like Stranger's Wrath. However, I think that this new project might just be the HD Remake of Stranger's Wrath coming to PS3 and probably XBL.

This is good news, I have a large set of rose tinted glasses for the first Abes Oddessy game, and for all the games that followed now that I think of it (Even Strangers Wrath!) It'll be nice to see the strange art style and fantstic sense of humour attached to the games return though, and in HD too OMGWTFBBQ.

It's funny that I should see this thread though, I've been looking for an old(ish) game to spend some time on over Christmas, and I think I might go play Munches Oddessy since I have it here...
