While i was playing ODST i was thinking to my self. do i think this is right for the Halo franchise. Do i really want be playing as the master cheif again? OR sneaking around as a ODST. And my answer to that. Is yes, i much prefer to be human and sneaky. Instead of a bullet sponge.
But what do you think?

While I do prefer characters with actual... well, character, it's completely up to Bungie as to where the franchise goes.

I don't know about you but the ODST soldiers seem to be able to take just about as many bullets as Master Chief and jump about as high him. But I haven't played it, I've only seen videos.

I wouldn't say it's sneaky as the silenced guns acctually don't work as you'd expect a silenced gun to work :( Epic fail on that part. Fantastic game though

Do admit that you do have quite a lot of shields. But bringing back a health bar i think was a big thing. And in my opinion. Its welcome

They also move faster and can jump higher than Master Chief when carrying a turret or similar heavy weapon.

Me confused.

I thought Master Chief was supposed to be the cybernetic super-soldier. Not only can the ODST fight just like him they have those visor things which make it seem like they have better equipment than MC.

Who ever thinks this game is worth $60 is a total fanboy.

FACT!
Its not just the campaign that makes it worth it. Firefight and halo 3 multi player are awesome additions. Are you saying everyone would give their dog to CoD4 just because of the campaign?

Don't even talk to that guy, he keeps getting banned for making flame-filled anti-halo threads and making new accounts under very similar names for some odd reason. Anyway just call him a troll and report him.

it is a step in the right direction if you ask me, things can stagnate if its dragged out too long, not played ODST but if people say its good, then maybe it is.
Just when a game strays from its main character, people do moan, MGS2 would be a good example

All you guys quoting the troll are in fact helping him.
I think the 4 player co-op is cool (should have been in Halo 3, but whatever), but the recycled weapons and mechanics make the game more of a rental than anything else.

I miss playing as the master chief, but the firefly voice acting compensates for it

edit: also I do like the gameplay, so far so good

I would say so. I haven't played much of the game so far (still fighting my way through Buck's mission) but yeh, I definitely prefer the focus on the ODSTs over Master Chief.

I was a little surprised that as an ODST, I was able to pick up a mounted turret and walk around with it like MC did. Maybe being the best damn soldiers in the UNSC besides the Spartans, they get a heavy workout regime.

Still, it's a good game, so that's fine by me.

I think they should of kept that mechanic to the heavy weapons guy. Its not game breaking though.

The only downside to an ODST is that their health doesn't regenerate. I thought that turrets and such would drag down the ODST too much to bother with considering MC has such difficulty with them.
