And you can't do this with the 360 controller? Really? I actually find that with the Dualshock 3 the thumbsticks are too close together, and the way I grip the controller as a consequence of this configuration makes the controller generally feel too small and fiddly.Indigo_Dingo said:Not really. The thumbsticks are alternate instead of parralel - I prefer my Dualshock 3. I can keep it on 3 fingers of both hands, if I need another finger, I can easily keep it on the last two fingers of both hands.
Oh no, what I am experiencing here is a consequence of preference. I use the 360 more, and hence feel more comfortable with the 360 controller. It is possible, just possible, that there's nothing wrong with the 360 controller apart from you not being used to it?
Ginnipe, you had a great post going until you got to here:
I've gotten the RROD twice since buying my 360 in November 2006 - once in early 2008 and once this year, and both times I've dealt with great customer service reps and gotten my console back in 2-3 weeks.Ginnipe said:The sad thing is, the 360 has terrable customer support and this comes into play when the gremlins inside get mad and give you the RROD. I had a 360 Elite and I got the RROD twice, so I call customer support to get it fixed for free since it's their problem. But sorry, i've been a loyal customer for over a year so I have to pay $150 to get the damned thing fixed and then I would lose all my memory including all the downloads I paid for which was about $120 worth, that got me pissed. So I sold the thing and all the games and bought a PS3.
Hardware issues, yes, out the ass entirely. Can't disagree with you. Customer service issues? No.
You may also have become aware of Microsoft extending the warranty on RROD issues to three years, rather then the original one year.
I also fail to see how you lose anything on your hard drive since it's detachable and doesn't get sent back when you require repairs. Furthermore, even if they sent you a console other than the one you had originally, the licenses for your downloaded content transfer to the new console. Worst case scenario, you download it all again - free.
I don't disagree that the RROD is a massive pain in the ass. But the reasons you've cited here for washing your hands of the 360 and moving to the PS3 are just... wrong. I'm sorry, but that's the truth.
