Arryn took the time to look around the city and see what she could recognize just by herself. It was, after all, a place she'd never seen before so she should try to learn on her own, though she'd been getting some help from Alistair and Victor. The latter of those two intrigued her more since he had fur like she did, but wasn't apparently of the same species as she was. That itself didn't make any sense to her, but she would have to trust that they were telling her the truth so that she would be learning new things.

Arryn nodded in agreement to Alistair and Victor, entering the inn, or rest place as Victor said, and looked around herself. She took note of some people in there, seemingly talking together. A few of those people seemed to look towards the three of them when they entered, but quickly continued what they were doing after that.

She looked around herself even further, trying to identify things around her from what she'd learned so far. It wasn't a whole lot, sadly, but she was determined to learn more. She noticed Victor looking in her general direction, and Alistair's, so she thought to approach the two to see what he wanted. "[Yes?]" she asked Victor, curious to know what he had to tell her.

Terry sat watching the door, beer in hand. For the most part nothing of note was happening until some scholarly type walked in followed by a tiger Keidran, and a Basitin. The bookworm was of little interest, but the other two caught his eye; the Keidran was all eyes and ears, trying her best to take in the surroundings, and Basitin...he carried himself like one who was no stranger to violence.

Smiling to himself, he watched over the top of his drink as the Basitin saw Terry and grimaced, that unique Basitin grimace that comes from when they see one of their own not following the 'Laws'. For the life of me I don't know why, but it amuses me to no end. He thought.

Victor nodded as Aryn approached, and found himself realizing that this was probably going to come across as mostly odd. However, he needed to find out how much he would need to spend and how many rooms he was going to need...and if he would need to be more aware of the problems of others rather than making his own trouble.

[Rest on own, or with another?] Victor asked as best he could. He was sure that was a bit broken, but it worked well enough. This language barrier was going to need to be crossed sooner rather than later. And he didn't think the nervous mage was going to be able to help too much. It was a problem he would likely address....

"Just two rooms please." Victor said, turning to the innkeeper and handing him the coins necessary for the rooms...what was standard fair anyways. The innkeeper quickly counted it over, and then grabbed the two keys needed from the wall behind him. Victor nodded in thanks and turned back to Aryn.

[Nevermind. Room here.] Victor said, nodding to some stairs where the rooms would be located. He suddenly wasn't sure if this was a good idea to have her in the room with himself. He wasn't even aware of how this sleeping arrangement would work. However, first things first. The mage needed to be calmed down, and he was pretty sure Aryn had offered to do such a thing.

"Here's to hoping that this works out. Rooms all ready Alistair." Victor said, hoping that the mage might realize that things were being taken care of without him doing something. Or perhaps he didn't realize what was going on. Regardless, everything was proceeding well enough, without too much issue.

Alistair hurried over to join Victor and Arryn, quite sure with his assessment that nobody here would be too much of a bother to him. He looked visibly relieved, even if only in the slightest, mostly due to the added seclusion that the inn had offered. Noticing that Victor had already paid for rooms, he smiled briefly at his generocity. "Err, thank you. F-for paying for the accomodations, of course."

He turned to Arryn and tried to better convey Victor's message to her, just to avoid any possibility of confusion. "[Victor here has kindly purchased two rooms for us, though it would be helpful to know your preference in your accomodations so we can come to an agreement on whom shall be sharing rooms with another.]"

While she could somewhat understand what Victor said, Alistair cleared it up further for Arryn. "[I don't have any preference. Whether I'll be alone or with someone else. We usually all slept together in my group for warmth and protection, so you could say that I'd prefer being in a room with someone, but you two can discuss that.]"

Alistair seemed to have calmed down somewhat already, but her offer still stood for him. Perhaps it would even help him in future events, whatever they might be. She waited for them to discuss who would be in which rooms.

Alistair nodded, acknowledging Arryn's preference before turning to Victor. "Well, she says she prefers to have someone with though, though she left it up to us to decide who it shall be. So, I shall be polite and what might your preference be?"

Victor listened to Aryn, but couldn't catch much of what she said other than something about "together". He figured that meant that she usually did stay with someone, or at least with more than just herself. Though, when Alistair turned to him, he wasn't quite sure what he would decide, given their current events.

"Well, I figure I should probably be the one to share the room and bed, since I decided to take her along in the first place. You can have some privacy and have your own room. That sound alright to you?" Victor said, deciding that he should probably have to live with his consequences and not try to hide them in another room.

Communication might continue to be a problem, but this might be an interesting chance to try and learn something. Besides, Aryn could cause trouble, which Victor reasoned Alistair might not be the best of getting her out of. Though, Victor might invite the trouble, as it would be something more to pass the time...and perhaps learn a few things while watching out for her. Like the odd Basitin who seemed to note his gaze and seemed to smile. Interesting fellow there.

Katja stayed mostly focused on her meal as a group of people entered the inn, but that didn't hinder her in getting a good look at them and assess whether or not they should be considered threats, the thought that such an assessment was not needed here in the city didn't seem to occur to her as she looked over the new arrivals with an inquisitive eye. The small band seemed to be composed of a tiger Keidran, a bearded human, and a grey furred Basitin, all of them a fair bit taller than her with the Basitin being the tallest, and the physique of the Keidran and Basitin seemed like they were not directly adverse to fighting, the human she couldn't tell due to him being wrapped in black robes, a mage perhaps?

Out of the three she immediately pegged the Basitin as the one she would have to keep an eye on, the way he scanned the room and even that slight grimace at seeing the Basitin she had talked to earlier spoke of a militant Basitin upbringing, and even though she could just spot a simple knife on his belt she imagined that he could prove a handful if he decided to be difficult. The robed individual she was less sure about, mages could be powerful, especially human mages as they had no need of visible crystals to channel magic, but due to that same fact she also couldn't be sure that he was an actual mage, his personality seemed docile however, so he could be considered as such for now. The third individual, the Tiger Keidran, seemed relatively harmless, she didn't methodically scan the room like the Basitin had, but rather seemed interested in just taking it all in, and while she had a bow with her it seemed more like a tool than a weapon.

In the end Katja figured that the small group was no immediate threat to her and went back to eating the rest of her meal as they started speaking a mixture of Keidran and Human over by the innkeeper. From listening in on the parts of their conversation that were in Human she could make out that they were purchasing rooms and discussing lodging arrangements, which seemed all good, she had after some immediate thinking thought that one of the three might be getting fooled, or the other way around, but it did seem like they were together after all.

Apologies I've been out for a while! I'm probably going to have more time to post more frequently now though

Borta staggered out of the healer's shop.

"[Needles!]" He grumbled to himself, rubbing his left shoulder "[I can't believe I just paid to have a bunch of needles stuck in my back!]"

Painful as the therapy had been though, Borta felt better than he had in a long while. The dull ache in his spine and shoulder-blades had almost completely subsided, and his injuries from earlier that day seemed a distant memory.

Glancing at the sun's general position, Borta decided to head back to the inn. He wanted to have plenty of time to set up and integrate himself before plying his trade that evening.

Feeling released from the pains of his ageing body, Borta, Borta was strangely optimistic and, dare he say it, excited. For the first time, he truelly believed there was an adventure for him somewhere. And Borta would find it. He hadn't felt like this in years. A smile spread along his face, and as he walked back towards the inn, he sang to himself. It was an old tune, one his sister had often sung while tending his wounds after a less successful day of heroics.

The Keidran syllables rolled from his tongue, the simple melody drifting around him, drawing looks of suprise from passers by. The occassional Keidran stopped and listened, smiling to themselves as they recognised the tune or the language.

Borta reached the inn soon enough and trotted inside, nodding his greatings to Terry, who had resumed his old position. At the bar, an odd group were waiting at the bar, apparently discussing accomodation. A Bastin, a Keidran and a Human all walk into a bar? Most unusual. It sounded like the opening of most of the jokes he new. Smiling to himself, he waited patiently at the bar to atract the innkeeper's attention. He was in no rush.

"Yes, yes," Alistair replied, "it'll be quite alright. I would even as far to say great, as I've always been partial to keeping my privacy. It'll give me some room to gather my thoughts - I have yet to grow comfortable with being around people, especially in such numbers. I wonder if the innkeep will allow me to cook my own meal..."

The mage trailed off as he began wondering just what he would prepare, if such privileges were to be granted. He hadn't had much in his satchel in the way of provisions, though he would gladly pay to use some of the inn's supply. He'd even be willing to pay extra for the use of the kitchen, for he rather despised the idea of someone other than himself handling his food.

After a few wrong turns Jarrod found his way to the market. The sound of conversation and smells coming from the various produce was familiar to him. Humans and Keidrans partially filled the street or stood in groups next to each stall. One stall in particular looked like it held lunch.

"How much?" Jarrod pointed to a medium-sized headless fish and directed his question to the stall vendor. The human male stopped his rapid chopping and looked Jarrod up and down. "Eight silver." he declared before going back to slicing fish.

Jarrod frowned. He didn't have that much money to spare. And for eight silver he should have been able to get three fish. He recognized the stripes on the fin, the fish was fairly common. He shook his head at the vendor. The man shrugged and immediately began shouting about the superiority of his fish. A vendor two stalls over decided the shouting was a challenge and immediately began to proclaim his produce to be even better - the bloodiest beef in the city! The goal seemed to be to shout the loudest and the combined noise hurt Jarrod's ears. He quickly backed away from the stalls.

"[Hello! Mister wolf Keidran with the big axe! Do you have a moment?!]"

'[Big axe?]' Jarrod turned, narrowly avoiding a collision with a small human child who was running by. Another Keidran was looking in his direction. Just in case he wasn't the one being called Jarrod slowly walked over. As he drew closer Jarrod tilted his head in surprise at the stranger's height. Compared to this stranger he was somewhat short and the feeling was uncomfortable.

'[What does she want?]' he wondered. Jarrod stopped a few tail lengths away. "[Hello.]" he replied.

"[Hello again, you're from out of town right?]" Dusty said to the other Keidran as he stopped a little ways away from her, seemingly a little bit uneasy about talking to her, she kinda wondered why that was. "[I hope you don't mind me asking, but have you been to any interesting places recently? I've just arrived from out of town as well you see, and I'm kinda thinking about where to go next. Oh, and I'm Maya, but people tend to just call me Dusty, the reason's kinda obvious out on the road...]" She had an inquisitive smile on her face as she kept talking, something that, as opposed to what people might have thought witnessing this situation, she rarely did to this degree unless she found something very interesting, usually being a more quiet sort.

Ignoring the odd looks that some in the surrounding crowd were giving her at this point for starting up a conversation in the middle of the pathway between some of the stalls, she seemed to round off her questions for the interesting wolf Keidran. "[...By the way, who are you? And where are you from?]" Still with a smile on her face she looked over the other Keidran, he had seemed a fair bit taller when she had spotted him in the crowd earlier, but she dismissed that as him merely having walked beside someone shorter. Now that he was up close though she spotted a few things that made her sure that she had indeed chosen a good person to chat with, as he seemed to be carrying something odd secured in pouches on his belt, one of them had made a slight jingling sound different from a coin pouch as well, and it merely reinforced her notion that this person indeed had tales to tell.

Victor listened for a moment as Alistair began to say a lot about privacy, and then food, and then just kind of trailed off. However, Victor figured that he had already forgotten about having a key to get into the room. However, he was more than willing to let him simply go onward thinking and rambling, as apparently interrupting such things would make him accusatory or something of the sort.

It would seem that they had little time to simply linger about, as another Keidran had come in and was probably looking for a room as well. Stepping somewhat out of the way and closer to the rooms, he gave a small look at Aryn as he did so. This was going to be interesting, in far too many ways for Victor to say he knew what he was doing.

"[To rest area here.]" Victor said, starting to move towards the rooms, noting the numbers on the keys to easily locate where they would be staying. Upstairs, a few rooms in. He really could not have asked for better rooms...unless they had perfect roof access, which was going to make this his new favorite inn in town.

Borta watched out of the corner of his eye as the human played middle man to his two companions. He smiled to himself at the Bastin's broken Keidran. He was making an effort though, and that was what counted.

Not wanting to bother the company, who were probably exasperated enough, Borta continued to wait. The innkeeper seemed to be busy however, so he stopped a nearby barmaid instead.

"Sorry to bother you," he began "but what is your policy on entertainment here?"

The woman looked at him quizzically "No real policy, per say," she began, scooping empty mugs onto her tray "why do you ask?"

"Oh, its just that I am a wandering musician, and I was wondering if I could ply my trade here tonight?"

The woman grunted "Don't see why not..." she froze and spun around "We ain't payin' mind!"

Borta chuckled. They were all the same "Perish the thought!" Nodding, the woman continued her buisness. Satisfied, Borta slid away from the bar and moved up the stairs towards his room. He'd need to prepare for the show.

"[...By the way, who are you? And where are you from?]"

Jarrod was a bit confused by the number of questions the strange Keidran asked. None of them were direct requests for help which is what he had been expecting. He tilted his head slightly to scratch one ear while he considered his answer. 'Interesting places?' He'd only been to the docks and the market in this city. Neither of which were very new to him. "[I came from Arroy]" Jarrod replied to the easiest questions first. "[I am Jarrod.]" he added after a slight pause. "[I arrived at the docks.]" He turned to point towards the docks but stopped when he realized he wasn't quite sure which direction was the right one. He changed the gesture to a light shrug. "[I was going to eat then look for the garden.]" He hoped the city had one. Or maybe even a greenhouse. Though he'd never seen a real greenhouse he had noticed the gardeners in Arroy liked to talk about the great glass constructs.

Terry was glad to see the old wolf come back, looking much better. I knew Ben would set him right. He thought with a small smile, unfortunately that smile faded the next time the door opened. A very large, and well armed Forest Wolf ducked through the door followed by a smaller, but no less armed human. The way the duo stood and surveyed the common room, obviously looking for someone, made his fur stand on end.

It felt like a lead weight landed in his gut when the human made eye contact with Terry, before elbowing his partner and pointing in the Basitin's direction. Well shit, this can't be good... Moments later the two stood over his table, while he did his best not to look concerned.

"You're in some deep shit Thud." The wolf growled. "And save us all the hassle of trying to deny that that is who you are...we are well informed.? "Yeah now you're gonna come quite like or things will get...messy." The human said, with a grin. Doing his best to keep a calm front, Terry took a final swig of beer before speaking. "I ain't goin? nowhere with you unless you tell me what kinda shit I'm in. I know you?re not Guard, they don't ask, so who sent you?"

"[Happy to meet you, Jarrod.]" Dusty said to him after he had answered her questions, or well, most of them anyway, and even though the responses had been brief at best it didn't seem like he had anything against talking to her, he was simply a bit, hmm... Perplexed. Seeing as he seemed to be fresh off the boat from Arroy, which was a smaller city up the coast a ways from what she remembered, it didn't appear like he knew much about Wreathwood, and though she hadn't been here for long either she had had a couple of days to adjust and explore.

Thinking that Jarrod would probably appreciate some directions and such she smiled and spoke again as her tail swished lazily behind her. "[Well, if you're looking for food I know a small place to grab something nearby, I can show you if you'd like. As for a garden...]" She pondered what would be the best place for such, she hadn't exactly been all over the city in her short time here, even if she had explored a fair bit. "[I know that the grounds at the academy has a large garden and a park nearby, it's over near, uhm...]" She turned around as she searched the skyline for the tallest point of the academy, but it was difficult to tell from street level in the market. Giving up she turned to Jarrod again with a small shrug and a smile. "[It's a bit difficult to spot the tower from here, I can show you that as well when we get a bit closer, it's not difficult to spot.]" Hoping that he would accept her help she looked at him with a gentle smile on her face as he decided if he wanted her to aid him or not.

Having finished with her meal with no further interruptions, Katja had planned to head back up to her quarters and retrieve some of her more essential belongings before a quick trip into the city again, however her plans were cut short when two more people entered the inn, and unlike the last group these seemed like they were less docile. From what she could see there was a Forest Wolf Keidran and a Human, both significantly larger than her, but the Human a bit less so than the Keidran, both had weapons out in plain view and could be considered quite well armed, if not 'armed to the teeth'. Katja shifted a bit in her seat as the two surveyed the locale and pointed out the Basitin she had been talking to earlier, or more like the Basitin that had been talking to her, before they headed over to him, taking no further notice of the other patrons.

Debating if she should go upstairs to grab her weapon in case this got rough, Katja dismissed the idea, then they would definitely get more agitated and peg her as someone they had to deal with, instead she grabbed hold of the cutlery she had been provided by the innkeeper and hid it from view under her cloak, it wouldn't do much good, but it was better than being unarmed. She sat in silence while she listened to the exchange between the apparent thugs and the Basitin known as 'Thud', and from her point of view it seemed like the new arrivals were not part of any official organization and yet seemed intent on bringing Thud with them against his wishes, likely for unlawful purposes. Tightening her grip on the steak knife and fork under her cloak she kept her senses trained on the thugs and Thud, if they started something here she wouldn't, no couldn't, sit idly by even only armed with cutlery and the chair she was sitting on.

Arryn followed Victor towards their rooms, noticing the two people arriving at the inn. Another Keidran and a human. They seemed like trouble, but she figured it wasn't something she should get involved into and mentally shrugged. She couldn't understand a word from them, anyway. And even though the Keidran might understand her, she didn't want to get into an unnecessary fight.

She wondered what these so-called rooms looked like. It couldn't be anything like the tents her group made to sleep under. Made from whatever cloth they could get their hands on, usually only found while hunting, probably someone who dropped it on their way past the forest. Dyed a mix between green and brown with what they could use from nature, so they might blend in a bit better. They would either sleep on the ground, or if it was too hard, they would put leaves on the ground to sleep on instead inside the tents. No sense in ruining your back and be unable to hunt. Weapons were always kept close in case of an interruption during sleep, which was always likely due to sleeping outside in a forest.

Borta spent a few moments ensuring the lute was in tune. This was normally hard to do without another instrument to compare to, but Borta's own voice was more accurate than any. He'd hum a note softly, and check the sting made the appropriate sound. He smiled at the happy memories he had of playing this old instrument. He'd performed in almost every major city, to dukes, warriors, criminals, every type of person.
And not once had they failed to applaud. That was one of the few achievements Borta could brag about.

He was suddenly aware of a slight faultering in the hubub of the inn below. Laying the lute softly to one side, Borta stood and walked slowly from his room. Glancing down the stairs to the floor below, he quickly identified the source of the unease: two well armed figures stood opposite Terry, who seemed to be reclining pretty casually, all things considered.
Borta was unarmed, and didn't feel like going back to the healer in hurry, but he couldn't allow Terry to fight those two alone. He was confident that Terry could handle himself though, and that if he really wanted to even the odds, he should probably fight on the strangers' side. But regardless, Borta knew enough about fighting to never assume you're better than your opponents.
Running his tongue along the outside of his teeth, Borta slipped calmly down the stairs and attatched himself to the corner of a group of Keidren.

He waited to see what would happen.

The wolf let loose a deep laugh that made Terry's tail twitch. "All you need to know is that you crossed an associate of his, and he can't have that." Terry thought for a second. Who could I have...Xavier, shit. Getting to his feet Terry let out a bit of a sigh. "Well fine then, let?s not..." With that he threw his beer mug in the wolf's face, while simultaneously rushing the human.

As the wolf fell back, instinctually trying to shield his face, Terry's leather and mail clad fist connected with the face of the human. As the man stumbled back from the assault, knocking tables aside and scattering other patrons, Terry pulled his hammer free. No time for subtlety... He mused, swinging the weapon on an upward arc from the floor.

A heavy 'thud' sounded, and every male regardless of species flinched and the weighty head on the weapon slammed into the man's crotch. The thug made a few pitiful groans before toppling to the floor, and adding to the damage of his already ruined face. One down! Terry thought, swinging back to the wolf. Unfortunately for him the Keidran had recovered faster than expected, and cut his turn short by slamming his own fist into the side of the Basitin's face.
