You might as well hate me too. I live in Minnesota. I hope your enjoying your giftIndomitableSam said:Manitoba. Apparently this blew in from Minnestoa. It's heading East, I think. So no worries.Andrewtheeviscerator said:Where do you live? and is it close to Edmonton? Should I be worried?IndomitableSam said:snip
Yeah... I do hate you. My parents are retiring out to Qualicum or Parksville next year, so I may see about finding a new job out there. I hate winter too, and there's really no family left here when they leave.Athol said:As someone living on the southern end of Vancouver Island, I feel obligated to say the following: HA!IndomitableSam said:-Snip-
It's s sunny and clear 20c right now...and even in the dead of winter it'll probably never get lower than -5.
You trust the Weather Network? After living in Winnipeg for 18 years I've eventually come to a slight disagreement with their forecasts.IndomitableSam said:Yeah, it's rain/snow for the rest of the weekend, then it's up to like +10 again next week. Long term says even warmer again after that, but who knows?
As someone who also lives on southern Vancouver Island I can assure you that we really don't get that much rain here... at least not in Victoria. Being on the tip of an island whatever weather comes by tends to just keep on moving.ThrobbingEgo said:Yeah, at the price of constant rain.Athol said:As someone living on the southern end of Vancouver Island, I feel obligated to say the following: HA!IndomitableSam said:-Snip-

keideki said:Ah, you guys up in Canada are missing out. It was 101 F (38 C) here in Arizona yesterday.
Yay, another Winnipegger. Don't see many of us here. I drive to work now (moved out to Transcona because it's cheap, but no buses), and found out my driver's side mirror that was knocked off in spring and replaced isn't defrosting. Was a fun drive. That Annoying Guy said:You trust the Weather Network? When I looked out the window this morning I saw the same thing... I was disappointed to say the least, and I JUST got my bike back from the shop! *Begins crying into shirt*
Usually I'd agree with you. It's expected here. But it was 25 a few days ago and we woke up to snow and sleet all day. It's still sleeting. Overall shitty day. Come January and -25 or worse daily, we're pretty much resigned to it and in February we start enjoying it again during the bonspiel thaw.Tiger Sora said:Ohh, it gets cold and you start complaining, you sure your Canadian?
Better yet, I'm making a new category for Canadians in the winter. Real Canadian's who don't complain, and wussie Canadian's who complain cause it's cold out and that they have to clear the snow off their car than drive it.
It's your peoples fault the title of "the winter people" went to the Russians. It's you people who are probably in on the global warming conspiracy. And it's your peoples fault hockey has become some overbearing mothers run sport.
Well I say take off ya hoser. Don Cherry and I are mad as hell and we won't stand for any of this anymore!

This is a joking rant btw. Though there is some truth in it I'll admit.
Coming from a guy who lives in Edmonton. I would find the lack of snow wierd. I'd also love it if there were no snow. You know, for traveling convenience.aba1 said:I know here at least where I am in Ontario there is no snow. It is actually really nice out but on a related topic...
A lot of people don't have a snowy christmas. Is it weird to you guys not to have snow or at least weird to always see snow and winter being associated with christmas and have none.
I remember back when I was a kid growing up near Toronto (back in the mid 90s... wait... holy shit, that was nearly 20 years ago. Fuuuuuuuuuuuudge.), we had snow every christmas. I remember this because we would play with our new toys in our massive snow forts. I have distinct christmas day memories of this. In recent times though, (2001+ I'd say), I can't recall seeing a white christmas. You'll sometimes get some snow in December, but never enough to stick... Until January.aba1 said:I know here at least where I am in Ontario there is no snow. It is actually really nice out but on a related topic...
